Among humanity lived an unusual creature. To some he's a god to others he's the devil.

This creature has wandered the earth for many years, learning many things about its inhabitants, how they act how they talk how they eat, and how they create. But before he learned these things he sat alone for many years, alone for many seasons, he felt the warmth, the cold, the rain, and the sun. He felt no pain seeing as he had no senses.

That was at least until the unexplainable happened; a lone wolf traveling through a heavy snowstorm on its way home presumably died, right on top of the creature who at the time was in the form of a rock. The death of the wolf stimulated the power
within the creature and so it took the form of that wolf.

Fur as white as the falling snow, a long snout strong legs. In this form, the creature was able to observe its surroundings fully for the first time. His yellowish-green eyes observed the far horizon, with what little light emitted from the shadowed sun. He felt the bone-chilling wind. He smelt the gasses lingering in the air.

He was alive.

And so he went on his way, venturing in the same direction the wolf was, he walked for days upon days until he came upon a small settlement one that was broken down and withering far ahead he saw a boy carrying wood into one of the settlements. He ventured closer to observe the boy in curiosity.

"Joaan! You've returned!" The boy exclaimed as his eyes caught sight of the wolf he raced closer to embrace him.

This confused the wolf, who is this boy and who is this Joaan? As didn't know how to communicate he chose to stay quiet and allow the boy to do as he pleases.

"Come Joaan, let's get you something to eat." A big smile could be seen on the boy's face as he placed a rope leash around Joaans' neck.

They entered one of the only stable-looking shelters in the settlements small amounts of warmth could be felt from the depleting fire.

The boy placed a pot on the fire and started to speak, telling who he thought to be Joaan what happened while he was gone, he spoke of his family who's left to look for a better home beyond the horizon, and he told him of how his family promised to return for him when they have.

That was many years ago. So many that he couldn't remember their faces too well, he drew who he remembered on the wall as a reminder to hold on to hope.

The creature felt indifferent to his suffering but retained all this information he listened as the boy told him various stories of his family, stories of his small adventures he observed his features from his bright violet eyes to his pale white hair that reached his shoulders.

He remembered it all, never forgetting. And so he spent days with the boy, days turn into months, months turn into years until finally, 3 years passed.

It was the boy's 17th birthday. He's long passed the age of adulthood, he's gotten tired of waiting instead of deciding to venture out on his own to find his family. He packed provisions, drinking water, wood, meat, and many more.

"Joaan, I—I think it's time we leave, so many years have passed and no one came for me, I'm sure they've forgotten about me and may be thinking I'm dead." He was solemn in his words they were heavy with pain and betrayal as a tear fell down his cheek.

"Let's go find them, what do you say Joaan?"

It was a bittersweet day. A day that marked the biggest change in the Creature's life.
