~ Third Pov.

"I think you're lying to me." Minho remained turned in Seungmin's direction, eyeing the brown-haired one critically as he acted strangely.

"I said I'm fine." Sighed the younger, hoping Minho would finally drop the subject and get back to cooking.

For a moment, the black-haired one looked at Seungmin until he then turned off the stove and walked around the kitchen island to walk into the living room.

Seungmin continued to play nervously with Dori's fur, listening to Minho's footsteps as they got closer and closer.

His heart began to beat faster when he finally realized Minho standing in front of him but he didn't dare look up.

"Seungmin, look at me." the older guy's voice lit up the room, his voice serious and firm, sending a cold shiver down Seungmin's spine.

He had to swallow, afraid to look the older boy in the eye and give himself away.

But when Minho placed his fingers between Seungmin's chin and pushed the younger's head up, the brown-haired man had no choice but to look his opposite in the eyes.

Those eyes...

Those damn eyes...

"So?" Minho raised an eyebrow, finally waiting for a more believable answer. He didn't think everything was fine with Seungmin. The younger one was acting stranger than usual in Minho's eyes.

"I told you everything was fine." Annoyed, Seungmin removed Minho's fingers from his face, rougher than he wanted to be in the process and pushed the older one back a bit before leaning further into the sofa, his gaze back on the sleeping cat.

Seungmin didn't know why, but somehow it irritated him that Minho was so caring. He wasn't used to having a friendly Minho around, who just a few weeks ago had annoyed him wherever he could.

Why was Minho interested in him at all?

Although they were in a fake relationship, Minho had no obligations or reasons to care about the younger one. He could have just taken Seungmin back to his mother yesterday instead of taking the trouble to bring him to his home and take care of him there.

Seungmin just didn't understand.

Without realizing it, a lump formed in Seungmin's throat, begging to just be cried out. His eyes glazed over and he was afraid he was going to start crying at any moment and there wasn't even a reason for it.

"I-I should go study." Trying to make up an excuse to get out of Minho's vicinity, Seungmin carefully pushed Dori off his lap and placed her on the sofa from where she jumped down a short hand later and disappeared up the stairs.
