Belle P.O.V

I didn’t really know where I was going, but I just wanted away from the thing that is Harry. I mostly just wanted a hit, but of course he took my damn bag. I sighed and walked through the park and stopped at a swing and sat down. I pulled out my phone and texted Jake

I’ll be by later to get some stuff. See you then. –B

I put my phone up and rolled my eyes. I yawned and walked over to the park bench and laid down. I was used to sleeping outside, so this didn’t really bother me. I wrapped my arm under my head for cushion and curled my legs. My head faced the back on the bench and my eyes became heavy. I heard small, muffled laughter behind me. I kept my face hidden until I heard. “Isn’t that Belle?” One of them whispered. I continued to hide my face. “Go find out.” The other whispered and I groaned and put my face in my hands. “Belle?” She asked shaking my shoulder. I turned a little and saw Kalandra standing over me and Milan a few inches behind her.

“Yes?” I asked a little harshly.

“Oh, sorry. We were just wondering if it was you.” Kalandra said quietly and backed away from me. I nodded and turned back around when I heard a raspy male voice behind me. “We’ll let you take care of her.” Kalandra said and walked away with Milan. My feet were lifted off the bench and he sat down next to me. He put my feet on his lap and I sighed.

“Is there something you want?” I avoided looking at him. He shook his head and shrugged.

“Not particularly.” He said and patted my leg. “Get up, let’s go get some coffee.” He smiled and pushed my legs softly to the ground. I groaned and shook my head. “Besides, this is definitely no place to sleep.” I rolled my eyes and sat up.

“Whatever.” I mumbled. I stood up and started walking to the coffee shop, not waiting for Harry. He followed behind me and caught up quickly. “So basically, you tell me I’m free to go just to come get me again?” I asked and looked at him.

“Eh, not really. I was walking this way to get coffee anyway. You could have said no, you know.” He smiled cheekily. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. “But you came along anyway.” He joked and nudged me with his elbow.

“Fine.” I said and stopped walking. I sat on the ground and crossed my arms and legs. He sighed and hooked his hand under my arm and picked me up.

“I was kidding. Please come get coffee with me.” He chuckled slightly and I sighed. I followed behind him as we walked to the coffee shop. I walked to a seat and sat down. “Want anything?” he asked and I shook my head. He nodded and stood in line to order his coffee. I rested my head on the table and yawned again. He came back a few minutes later and sat across from me. “So, you really didn’t like the show that much?” He looked at me over his coffee cup, blowing the steam away. I ignored his question and closed my eyes. “I’ll take that as a no?” He chuckled slightly. A smile snuck up on my face at his laugh. I peaked at him over my arm. “Are you sure you didn’t want anything?” He asked again and I shook my head.

“Actually, I have somewhere to be.” I said standing up and he stood after me. I cocked my eyebrow and looked at him. “Yes?”

“I’ll walk you.” He smiled and I shook my head.

“I can walk myself. Thanks.” I said quietly. I walked out the door and started to my house. I checked the time and knew my dad would be out drinking. Once I got home I retrieved the spare key from under the toad statue and unlocked the door. I hesitantly stepped in the house looking around for any sign of life from anyone. I tiptoed through the house, peeking in doorways. I sighed in relief and walked up to my bedroom. It’s not an everyday thing when I get to sleep peacefully in my bed. I walked to my closet and put on some comfortable clothes and yawned. Once I changed, I laid in bed and stared up at the ceiling. Sleep soon overtook me and for once I actually had a peaceful dream. My eyes shot open when I heard a slamming shut. I started trembling with fear and I jumped out of bed and ran to my closet and hid. I took a blanket with me to cover myself in case he did open the closet door to find me. The noise got louder downstairs and I started to hear multiple voices. I started to shake now that I knew he wasn’t alone. I had a small leap of hope that maybe if he did find me he wouldn’t do anything since he did have friends over.

“No, the door was unlocked. She’s here somewhere.” My dads voice rang through the house. I chewed on my lip nervously as I tried my best to stay quiet. The knob on my bedroom door was shaken as he tried to open in. “Honey, I’ve got some friends that would like to meet you.” He tried to sound sincere. “Open it or I’m breaking the door down.” His voice quieted and I got up shakily and opened the door. “Good choice darling.” He smirked and grabbed my hair and dragged my downstairs. The whisky on his breath was unmissable. “Here she is.” He said. I could basically hear the smirk that was lying on his lips. I looked around and saw three of his friends surrounding the area of the living room. They all gave me a quick smile, but I could sense it wasn’t courtesy.

“You’ve raised a stunner, Ray.” One of his friends smirked and walked over to me. They brushed their hand over my cheek and I flinched back. They all chuckled at my sudden movements and my dad grabbed my hair again.

“Be good.” He snarled and pushed me onto the couch. I groaned when my head hit the arm and I clenched my eyes shut. The awful alcohol smell surrounded me and when I peeked through my shut eyes my dad and his friends were surrounding me with disgusting smirks on their face. “How about some fun, yeah?” My dad grinned and I tried to push him away but it was four large drunk men against a small petite girl. He moved over and one of his friends sat next to me and pushed my hair back. I turned my head quickly and he chuckled.

“Don’t be ‘fraid darlin. We’re sweet as can be.” He winked and ran his fingers down my jawline. I pushed his hand away and his laugh was deep and dark. He pinned my arms about my head. “Ah, feisty, are we?” I struggled to get out of his grip and kept my face hidden into the couch.

“Here, this is how I get her to cooperate.” My dad said before picking my head up and slamming it on the back of the couch. In a few seconds I blacked out.

I woke up to the sound of emptiness. There was nothing surrounding me. I looked around and realized that it had happened again, except this time it was different. There were four of them, not just him. I curled up in a small ball, too scared to move. I moved my shaky hand behind my head and winced when I felt the bump of where it hit the couch. I reached over and picked up my clothes. I stared at my shirt which had been ripped open. I looked around for my underwear, but I couldn’t find them. I wrapped myself up in a blanket and walked up to my room. Once I got there I stared at my body in the mirror. Small bruises covered my body, most of them looking like fingerprints. I grabbed some clothes and walked to the bathroom to shower quickly. After I showered I put my hair up and did my makeup before slipping on my clothes and grabbing my shoes. I left fast scared that he was going to return. I slipped my hands in my coat pockets and kept my head down. I walked back to the park and sat down by the same tree I was always sit by. I rubbed the back of my head and sighed. It was still sore. I pulled the hood of my jacket up and laid back to stare at the sky. It was a bright blue today, white fluffy clouds scattered all around. It was a beautiful day, really, just a little chilly. The sun hit my face and warmth spread through my body. I rested my eyes for a few minutes and almost fell asleep when my phone went off. I groaned and picked it up.

Still come over? –Jake

I sighed and ignored the text. As much as I would love to forget the pain of everything that happened today, I think the sky was doing a pretty good job of keeping me calm. I picked a flower that was lying next to me and I smiled and twirled it around in my fingers. I hummed softly a song. I tried to think about what the song was called and I groaned and rolled my eyes when I realized that it was a song that Harry and his friends were singing at the park. I scrolled through my phone and turned on some Ed Sheeran. I stared to sing along softly and chuckled at how awful I sounded. I decided to shut up and just listen to him. A small butterfly started to flutter about me and it landed on my nose. I chuckled and crinkled my nose making it fly away. I smiled as I watched it disappear into the world. “Maybe one day I’ll get to fly away too.” I whispered only to myself before closing my eyes again.
