Stories Never End

Chapter 2 -The Discovery-

My mom got up from her knees and looked toward me. She went to here room, but I followed her to find an answer to what is happening.
"I need to tell you something," She said, " its something i needed to tell you for a long time."
" What! What could possibly explain my friend frozen in the street with his eyes that look like a volcano erupted in his head."
"Look, just please sit down."
I sat down on the bed next the the dresser she was shuffling through. She pulled out a skull. It was a very tiny skull though. It looked as if it was a rat or mouse of some sort. I kept thinking in my head what could be happening an why now. My mom sat down next to me and held my hand. I pulled away and gave her a curious look. That seemed to be enough to give her the idea this was not the time to " hold hands" sorta speak.
"Look, see this skull in my hand, this was our farthest traced answers we know of."
"What? Have you lost your marbles."
"Wait a minute"
My mom pulled out a ring. It shined blue and glowed when it got near the skull. She put the skull threw the glowing ring and it started to grow into a normal sized skull. Well, whatever a normal skull looked like. She started to say something, but it looked like it was hard for her to say it.
"I never wanted this life for you.I wanted you to be happy and live life with the person of your dream. It looks like theres no avoiding that now. When our history started we lived in harmony with a race called Carnats. They we ugly looking things that had a craving for blood. We fed them sacrifices to keep them from eating the hole village. They just happened to like human flesh. The village started to meet secretly in there houses and used signs on their doors that the Carnats did not understand. We eventually made an army big enough to over through the Carnats.What we didn't realize was that they had much more advanced weaponry and better trained soldiers. Only with the help of my great Grandfather we won. He had been cursed at the Carnats final breath. They haunt the the town we are in right now. Wherever we go or our blood line goes the voices follow. Your friend there is only one of the deaths that will come. The Carnats said they would come back when the "Boy of Great Importance" comes. That means your the one they are talking about.
It was a lot to take in. I was still trying to take in the information. Carnats? Boy of Great Importance? What did this even mean? When all the sudden I here on other scream from the direction my friend was in.
