TW- Homophobia, slurs

BTW: I love my girls, gays and theys

--Josey POV--

I walked down the hall to my first class. All I thought about was the girl I just met. She was sweet, and cute and she seems like a nice girl. I gave her my number and hopefully she calls or texts me.

I get to my class, math class. I hate math, especially pre calc. Luckily one of my friends, River, is in it. She's awesome. She's got the coolest tattoos. There's a snake on her arm, a dragon on her shoulder and we both have little half moons on our ankles. We've been best friends since kindergarten. I guess we were always the weird kids. She and I have similar styles, but she tends to take it to more of the extreme, so sometimes she gets dress coded. Who gives a shit other than the teachers anyway? I make my way to the back where she's sitting and take the desk next to her, plopping my books down on the desk.

I guess she went a little extreme today with short, tattered jean shorts, fish nets, a low key provocative "New Years Day" crop top and of course her combat boots.

"Sup, bitch. How's it hangin?" She says right when I sit down.

"Hey. It's hangin." I reply.

"Anything interesting happen this morning?"

Oh shit.

"Uh. Nothing really."

"Girl, something happened. I can tell. Spill."

I give in.

"Fine. Just don't tell anyone else. Deal?"

"Deal."

I lean towards her.

"I ran into, like literally ran into, this really cute girl in the hall." I gushed.

"Oh? Tell me more."

"Do you know Cher Horowitz?"

"Of course I do. Her dad was my mom's divorce lawyer a long time ago. I see her around. I don't know much about her, but she just seems like a stuck up rich girl. I heard her dad bought her a sick Jeep though. I personally would never be friends with her."

"Well, I think she's pretty, nice and chill. I actually wanna get to know her."

"You have fun with that."

"I will."

Soon enough we had to cut our conversation short because class starts, Miss Johnson does roll call and goes right into our first lesson. I took notes, but the class was kinda a blur. Part of the time I was paying attention and the other part River was trying to distract me. She never really listened in any class accept science. The bell rings, breaking me from my thoughts. I collect my books and get up. River follows suit.

"Okay class, remember your homework is pages 30-32 odds. Have a good day." Miss. Johnson says as we all leave her classroom.

I make my way into the hallway. I had already memorized my schedule, so I head to my locker and then my next class. Turns out I've got English next. On the class description, that I skimmed through, it said that it's a mixed class with the juniors. I kinda hope I'll see Cher.

"Bye, Jo!" River says behind me and I can feel her flipping me off, so I turn around and do it back.

We both laugh and we continue in our opposite directions. I totally thought River and I would have a ton of classes together, but we don't. We only have math and AP Bio together.

I stop by my locker and put my math stuff in. I take out my english note book which is halfway full from last year and grab a sharp pencil that actually has an eraser. I close my locker and head to English.

Right as I approach the door to the class I spot the one person I did not want to see today. Amber with her band of skanks, Mia and Sophia.

Even though Amber's a junior, she hangs out with a lot of the senior guys. I think I've seen her with almost every single one. I could be tripping though. Well, the reason I really don't want to see her is because when I came out/was outed she was the first one to start bullying me for it. At first she just called me petty slurs and then it evolved into her spreading rumors about me and other bad shit. eventually though River got a hold of her and put her in her place for a while. Then she started back up again last year. I've learned to ignore her, but sometimes it gets to me and I lash out.

I still have this sneaking suspicion that she does all this because I wouldn't go out with her. I guess she's okay looking, but definitely not my type and she's such a bitch.

"Well well isn't it the local dyke." Amber says in a cruel voice when she sees me, her skanks giggling behind her. I roll my eyes.

I go to walk into the classroom and she bumps me out of the way and sneers at me. Ugh.

I can finally walk in after Sophia and Mia walk past me. Honestly I'm not in the mood to retaliate today. I just wanna get through my first day.

"You're not gonna say anything Lesbo? C'mon. Nothing?"

I watch as she sits on a desk in the front row, her little minions sitting at the desks on either side of her. The only way I can get through to the seat I want is to walk right past her. Shit. Here we go. As I try to walk past her She sticks her arm out, stopping me. I sigh and finally decide to speak.

"Just let me past Amber."

I look down at her as she looks up at me, a smirk on her face. After a minute of us just staring at each other she finally puts her arm down. I walk to the seat near the window in the back. I'm as far as I can get from her. The whole time I feel eyes on me, probably Amber's and anyone else who perked up at our altercation. Hopefully we don't have to do work today because I am not in the mood.

I rest my head on my hand and just watch the door as the rest of the students filter in. The only ones I actually know are Kevin, one of the stoners and Tai, his girlfriend. They got together last year. That's all I know about them, but they do look like a cute couple. I watch as more students trickle in and then I spot her. Cher walks through the doorway, chewing some gum and hugging her books to her chest. We both make eye contact. She maintains it as she walks through the desks, ignoring the hungry looks of the boys and the annoyed looks of Amber and her minions.

She only tears her eyes away from mine when she sits in the seat in front of me. Her blonde hair falls down her back, I watch as she twists in the chair to look at me. Her chocolate brown eyes look into mine, she flips her hair which I instantly find really attractive, her lips form into a cute little smile. She's adorable.

I definitely have a crush on Cher Horowitz.
