Cordelia's POV

The bright morning sunlight hits my face, and I open my eyes. I smile, remembering that I'm in Lucy's bed. She's curled up against me, her face nuzzled between my neck and the pillow. Shit... do I really have feelings for her? Every breath she takes seems to only intensify my need to be with her.

I start to place tiny kisses on her face, first on her forehead, then working my way down her cheek and to her jawline. Her beautiful blue eyes flutter open. I pull away slightly, embarrassed that I had woken her up.

"Hello," she says, her voice dreamy and still sleepy. "What a lovely way to wake up."

I melt at the sight of her smile. "Come on, love, we've got to get up," I say.

"Why..." she whines.

"Because we've got a lot of work to do. I can't have you being late to class."

"But what if I've got a good reason?"

"A good reason?" I chuckle. "And what might that be, little one?"

"Morning snuggles with my teacher?"

"Nice try," I smirk. I plant a kiss on her cheek and sit up in bed. Lucy groans.

Once I've successfully dragged both of us out of bed, Lucy and I get to work on her independent study. Immediately, I notice that her powers are much stronger than I initially thought. We start with transmutation, and after my brief explanation of how to do it, Lucy disappears briefly, then reappears with a croissant for me from France. It's a very advanced trick for her first time.

We move on to mind reading, which she aces. I let her get in a few times, because technically no one can read the Supreme's mind (if it's properly closed, that is). Then, I close my mind and instruct her to try again. I know she won't be able to, but I want to see her try.

Then, she giggles. "What?" I ask.

"You're thinking about this morning," she says.

"How did you-"

"I read your mind. That's what I was supposed to be doing, right?"

I stare at her, jaw dropped, after what she's done. A normal witch shouldn't be able to do that. Unless...

"Alright, then... if you can read my mind, let's see if you can control it."

I give her a brief instruction, then focus on closing off my mind and keeping her out of it.

It doesn't work. Within a few seconds I am walking over to her, planting a kiss on her forehead. She smiles.

I shake my head, laughing a little. "That was good, but it was something I would want to do. I had no internal force fighting against it. Try again, but make me do something I wouldn't want to do."

Suddenly, I slap her across the face. She winces, but looks up at me with a smile. "Are you alright?" I ask quickly.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she says. "But that was something you wouldn't do, right?"

I chuckle. "Right," I say.

At that moment, I start to feel weak. I fall back a little and sit on the greenhouse floor.

"Delia?" Lucy asks, getting down on the floor with me.

"No," I whisper to myself.

"Delia, what's wrong?"

The weakness, and her powers... it all makes sense.

"I think you're the next Supreme."

I hope y'all are enjoying this so far!!! There are a few exciting things coming up in the next chapters but I'm gonna put some notes out here first:

1) There will probably be a few things that aren't exactly in line with how the magical universe in AHS works. Just go with it, it's all for the story :)

2) There is going to be some heavy stuff coming up, so any difficult chapters will start with a trigger warning!

Thanks for reading!

Love you,

A
