Jack Erebus was born in the slums of Mistral, a city plagued by poverty and crime. From a young age, he was subjected to relentless physical and emotional abuse from his father, who would ruthlessly beat him for every mistake he made. His mother, instead of offering solace, neglected and verbally abused him with vitriolic words that cut deep into his soul. The other townsfolk, seeing him as an easy target, joined in on the torment, regularly harassing and ostracizing him.

At the age of 12, Jack woke up one morning to find himself in an orphanage. From then on, the other children in the orphanage, fueled by fear and ignorance, bullied and taunted him mercilessly. They called him "freak" and "monster" because his aura manifested as a black mist, reminiscent of the malevolent Grimm creatures that haunted their nightmares.

Amidst the darkness of his existence, there was one glimmer of light. A girl named Selene, who resided in the same orphanage as Jack, treated him with kindness and compassion. She saw beyond his troubled aura and recognized his inherent worth. Over time, Jack began to warm up to her, and they formed a genuine friendship. Selene remained by Jack's side, the sole beacon of light in his life. Her unwavering support and acceptance gave him the strength to endure, even as the other children's cruelty escalated. Jack found solace in the quiet moments they shared, dreaming of a future free from the shackles of his past.

However, tragedy struck when Jack turned 14. A group of merciless children, driven by cruelty and prejudice, gathered to attack him. Overwhelmed by their relentless assault, Jack finally snapped, tapping into the dark powers that had remained dormant within him until then. In a terrifying display of newfound abilities, he unleashed his rage upon his tormentors, inadvertently taking the lives of everyone in the orphanage in the process.

Haunted by guilt, anger, and vengeance, Jack fled Mistral, leaving behind the life he had known. Before departing, he confronted his parents, the very source of his suffering, and in a fit of uncontrollable rage, he brutally ended their lives. No longer bound by the restraints of morality or conscience, Jack unleashed his fury upon the rest of his old town, eliminating every individual who had contributed to his torment. A twisted smile crossed his face as he carried out his grisly deeds. Seeking refuge in the bustling city of Vale, he became a reclusive figure, barely scraping by as a petty thief on the fringes of society.

One day, Jack crossed paths with the notorious crime boss Roman Torchwick. Accompanied by a girl with pink and brown hair named Neo, Torchwick recognized the potential in Jack's powers and offered him a deal he couldn't refuse. Embracing the shadows that had consumed his soul, Jack became an infamous assassin and hired killer within the criminal underworld.

Under the aliases of Shadow Reaper, Black Devil, and Jack the Ripper, he executed missions that seemed impossible, making entire villages and military bases vanish overnight without a trace. The darkness that coursed through his veins became his most lethal weapon, his very existence epitomizing fear and death. He had became the very thing everyone had called him. A monster.

During his time as an assassin, Jack crossed paths with Raven and her tribe on several occasions. Although he collaborated with them on certain jobs, he never fully trusted Raven, believing her to be using him for his powers. This constant suspicion and his hardened nature prevented him from forming genuine connections with others.

However, the encounter that would forever change his path occurred during a contracted hit on a retired Atlas soldier named Alex Rodrigues. After eliminating the target, Jack was confronted by a familiar face—Selene, the sole survivor of the orphanage. The sight of her triggered a flood of memories, both painful and remorseful. Consumed by the overwhelming torrent of emotions, Jack lost control and, in a moment of irrationality, attacked Selene, inadvertently stabbing her in the chest.

Regaining his senses and realizing the gravity of his actions, Jack desperately attempted to save her, but it was too late. The wound proved fatal, and Selene breathed her last breath in his arms. The weight of his guilt and the enormity of his sorrow broke something inside him. In a fit of uncontrolled rage and anguish, he unleashed his powers, obliterating the entire village that had witnessed his tragic mistake.

The aftermath of this catastrophic event left Jack broken and emotionally shattered. He became reclusive, retreating from the criminal underworld and refusing to take any more contracts. It was during this time of self-imposed isolation that fate brought him face-to-face with a young boy named Derek Westbrook. Initially perceiving Derek as an annoying pest, Jack's frustration boiled over, leading him to attack the persistent teenager. However, as time passed and Derek's persistence proved unyielding, Jack began to warm up to him. Their shared enrollment in Beacon Academy cemented their bond, and they became almost inseparable. Through Derek's unwavering support, Jack found solace and a renewed sense of purpose. He saw Beacon Academy as an opportunity to right his wrongs, to take a chance at redemption, and to embrace a life where he could protect and save lives instead of ending them.

With a dark past that continues to haunt him, Jack steps onto the path of a huntsman, driven by a burning desire to prove that he can rise above the monster he was once believed to be.

Note: Ironwood. I see what your doing. Trying to find some info on Jack, huh? Then i highly suggest you stop. 'Cause while i may have given you a chance, i can easily erase all of his information along with mine completely from the server while locking you and your little toys out as well... word of warning, don't mess with a pissed off computer expert. But if you think that's bad, i wonder what would happen if Jack found out about this? And that's not an idle threat...that is a promise.
