Lanisha Washington POV

"Monique we are not going on that Ferris Wheel."

"Why not though? It will only be for a few minutes."

"No means no Monique."

"Oh my god, LaeLae you doing too much right now!"

"And you are doing three motherfuckin' much right now! Now get cho ass hoppin' to this train station before I do it for you!"

My sister sucked her teeth while me, her, my cousins, and bestfriend walk to the train station. She wanted to go on the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier. I honestly did not want to go because of the possibility of rain and most importantly, my fear of heights. And Monique knows this; she just has a pissy ass attitude about everything.

"Lanisha you ain't gotta be that harsh on Monique. She just wanted to ride the Ferris wheel witchu. You could have let me ride with her if you didn't wanna do it" my bestfriend Khadijah said.

"For real. But chu know Lanisha ass gon act like its her period errrrday so let ha be." my cousin Dakari said out loud for the world to hear.

"Dae Dae shut cho ass up up! And Khadijah I get whatchu sayin' but you know momma said we gotta get home and take care of the house before she leaves on this buisness trip. Besides we can come back next time, if someone doesn't throw a temper tantrum." I looked at Monique who turned her head and responded with a verbal hmph. I rolled my eyes and told my other cousin, Dee, to get Monique before I snatch her arm outta her socket.

A big boom came from the sky and we all looked up to see that it was dark, cloudy thunder which started to get windy. It got so bad to the point me and Khadijah's lace started to show. I grabbed onto my head and Khadijah's hand and yelled at everyone to run and get their train cards out. We scurried off to the train as fast as we could. As soon as we got onto the platform, our asses ran onto the red line train like we were Sha'carri Richardson.

Dee, Monique, and Khadijah sat down while me and Dakari stood up to hold onto silver poles. Then as the train started to move.

While moving, I decided to take out my airpods and listen to Living Room Flow by Jhené Aiko. I was humming to the lyrics as silently as I could, feeling the rhythm pulsate against my ear drums. I opened my eyes to observe the train car seeing crackheads ask for change and a drummer boy playing on the train car seat. Then I spotted a boy who had this Toaster Strudel ass haircut talking to this very tall like figure with a navy blue hoodie. I wonder who that could be?

Suddenly, I felt someone staring at me and realized it was my sister who was giving me an ugly ass look, so I was gon' give her a piece of my mind.

I took out my airpods and said, "Is there a problem?"

Monique looked around and rolled her neck. "Yep, I sholl do with to goofy ahh!"

I had my mouth agaped, while Dakari and a few others on the train laughed. "Little girl, first of all we from Chicago so you know those are fighting words. Secondly, I should deck you in your shit right now for even thinking you about to disrespect me like that."

"Lae Lae calm down. She probably just tired right now" Dee said.

I slowly turned my head to Dee, who was looking as if I was going to put a hex on them.
