Issabella

Some time later, I woke up. Feeling rested and refreshed. I then looked across the cot and saw Ana still asleep peacefully.

I stretched a bit then got up then went outside.

I was comforted by the sounds of the early morning forest. The air was crisp and it was still dark.

'Time to go to him Ezra' I said.

'Yes, at last, we'll meet the other half of our soul' she replied happily.

I went back inside the tent and saw Ana still asleep. Going to her side of the cot, I tapped her arm lightly. She woke up immediately, frantically looking around.

'Shhhh, it's fine it's me Issa. I'm going to get going now. Thank you so much for everything, I'll come back for you, I promise' I told her gently.

She sat up and hugged me.

'Okay, I'll see you soon, please be safe' she whispered while still holding me.

'I will, you too' I responded, returning her embrace.

Once we parted, I waved then made my way out of the tent.

Taking a moment to focus on the bond, I proceeded to head in the direction of its pull.

I continued walking until I was in a denser part of the forest. Then, I decided it would be better to travel in wolf form here on out.

I took off the dress and tied it around our ankle before shifting.

Ezra and I focused on the bond. It's pull is a lot stronger now, and that excites me.

'Ezra, take over. Lead us to Lex' I told her.

'With pleasure' she replied before taking over and running toward the direction where the bond's pull.

We ran for a while, dodging trees, and jumping over branches. The cool early morning air, ruffled our fur, our body swayed from side to side, this feeling is bliss.

We continued like this until we felt hungry. Ezra hunted and ate a few rabbits to give us the energy needed to continue. After eating we found a nearby stream, and went there for a drink.

After our drink we laid under the afternoon sun, resting and gathering the strength needed to continue. We didn't stay there for long though, both of us needing to get to Lex immediately.

Before long we took off again, we felt the magnetic pull getting stronger and stronger and with each minute that passed.

Soon, very soon we'll me united with him. Soon, we'll finally be able to see what he looks without anything hindering our view of him.

When the sun began to set, I felt a hard tug on the bond.

'Did you feel that?' I asked Ezra.

'Yes I did, I think we are close' she replied brimming with happiness.

Close we are so close.

She ran even faster after feeling the tug, the need to get to him becoming frenzied.

It was dark now, and we were exhausted. But I can feel Ezra's determination, she refused to stop unless our body collapses. While I don't want it to get to that point, I would be a hypocrite to say I wouldn't do the same. However, one of us has to be logical, so this time it will be me.

'Ezra, I know you want to get to him as bad as I do, but our body is exhausted. We are pushing our limits, please at least slow down'

'In a few more miles. We are so close Issa, I can almost scent him'

'Only a few miles, Ezra. We don't want to collapse before even meet him'

'Yes, mother' she teased but kept her pace.

A few minutes later, I felt another tug in the bond. This time it was harder than the last.

Knowing we have traveled enough miles and our body is close to collapsing, I decided to again be the voice of reason for Ezra.

'Ezra, I think we are close enough now. We are too exhausted to continue, let's shift back'

'Okay' was all she said before shifting into our human form, and giving me control. I untied the dress from our ankle and put it on. Sitting down, I rested against a tree. Our body was throbbing with exhaustion.

I knew Ezra wanted to continue especially with how close we are, but she also knew I was right. If we continued, we ran the risk of fainting.

Feeling the full extent of our exhaustion, I'm glad I said something before it was too late.

After resting for a while, I got up knowing we needed to find somewhere to sleep for the night.

When I began my search, I felt the tug again, this one even harder than the previous two.

I immediately focused on the bond. Following it, barely paying attention to my surroundings.

'Issa, he's almost here!' Ezra yelled.

'Really?'

'Yes! If you look—' her statement was cut short when I bumped into a tree.

Wow, this tree smells really good. It smells of rain, flowers, and a hint of musk.

It was a wonderful combination, one I don't think I can live without smelling again.

Wait, trees don't smell this good.

I backed away and looked up. Seeing the blue rimmed grey eyes of my mate.

'I've found you, angels' he whispered wrapping his arms around me.

'Lex?' I asked.

Before he could answer, darkness consumed me.
