Y/n woke up with Melina still playing with her hair. Melina was staring at the ceiling with a million thoughts running through her head, so, she didn't notice that Y/n had rolled onto her back, and was now staring at her.

Y/n was feeling worse today that she did yesterday, but everything gets worse before it gets better, right? Luckily, this week was the week all the widows looked forward to every year. This week Dreykov let all the widows rest.

A piece of Melina's hair fell in front of her face, so, Y/n reached up, ignoring all the pain going though her arm, that was now worse than before since she had moved, and tucked the piece of hair behind Melina's ear.

"Good morning" Melina whispered as she looked down at the young girl's face, still playing with her hair. Y/n smiled at Melina, considering she still couldn't talk, and mouthed a 'Good morning' back.

"Do you feel any better?" Y/n shook her head. "Do you feel worse?" She nodded, before sitting up. The girl tried braided her own hair, before getting upset, taking off her shoe, and throwing at Melina's door.

"Hey, it's okay calm down. ...Or else i'll start calling you shoe thrower." Both of the girls laughed before Melina sat behind Y/n and started braiding her hair for her.

Once Melina was done and had put the hair tie around the bottom of the young girl's Y/h/c hair, Y/n turned around and mouthed a thank you to Melina before waking towards the door and putting her shoe back on her foot.

"Do you have training today?" Y/n turned to look at her and shook her head. Melina was now very confused, so she asked why. Y/n started looking for the sketch book, and once she found it, picked it up and wrote something on it.

'Dreykov let's all the widows have one week to rest every year' She handed the book to Melina so she could read it. Melina looked down at the writing and understood.

"Ahh, okay." She gave the book back to Y/n and looked at her. "Well then, do you want to do something today?" Melina looked around the room. "Not that there's really anything we can do." Y/n looked back down at the book before writing 'Not really' and giving it to Melina.

Melina read the writing again before handing the book back and saying something.

"Okay. We don't have to do anything then. It's up to you. I don't want a shoe thrown at my door again." Y/n laughed at her comment and Melina smiled.

Y/n turned towards Melina's bookshelf and picked up a random book without even looking at the title. She looked back at Melina, who was still sitting on the floor now messing with the bracelet on her wrist, and sat down beside her.

.... ~In that one voice from spongebob~ ....
A few hours later (Because i'm a lazy bitch)

Once Y/n had finished her book thirty minutes ago, and gotten another one, there was a flash of lightning, followed by thunder. Y/n jumped and tried to scream, which surprisingly she did considering she couldn't talk earlier, and fell sideways onto Melina before climbing over her and crawling to sit in the corner.

Y/n had always hated lightning and thunder, scratch that, Y/n has always been scared of lightning and thunder. She didn't know why, other than it had just always scared her. To be honest, and since The Red Room was in the sky, she thought that the lighting would strike somewhere outside and catch the whole place on fire, or, strike right by a window and break it.

Melina looked over at the shaking girl in the corner that was trying to read to get her mind off the storm, and crawled over to her. Melina sits down beside the young girl, and Y/n rests her head on Melina's shoulder, closing her eyes trying to think of something else than the worst case scenarios that always go through her head.

"Y/n, are you okay?" The young girl opened her eyes, looked up and Melina, and nodded her head, not wanting to speak. (Also not knowing if she could, even though she had screamed a few minutes earlier) "Are you sure?" This time Y/n shook her head, and put it back on Melina's shoulders closing her eyes again.

After a few minutes Melina realizes that neither her or Y/n haven't eaten anything all day, so, Melina picks Y/n up and puts her on the bed before leaving to get food.

Y/n wakes up without Melina in the room and screams, again. Melina walks into the room to Y/n sitting by the headboard with her head in her knees, shaking. Melina, literally, throws the plate on the dresser beside the door and, slowly so she doesn't scare the poor girl, walks over to her.

"Y/n... what's wrong?" The shaking girl looked up at Melina before looking down again. Melina put one of her fingers under the girls chin she she would look at her.

"What's wrong?" She says this as softly as she can so she doesn't get scared and jerk away. Both girls are now staring at each other, but only one has continuous tears running down her face. Melina takes her free hand and wipes them away.

"Y- you left me. An- and i was, i was scared that they we're going to, to get me." Y/n still has tears going down her face that Melina wipes away. Melina put her forehead on Y/ns and stops herself from also crying. She removes her finger from under the girls chin and grabs one of her hands in her own.

"Okay, I need you to listen to me okay?" Y/n nods her head against Melina's. "Okay good. I would never leave you okay? You're the person that made me stay here alright? On the first day I was going to leave because I didn't see the point in this place. Then I met you. You're the person that made me decide to stay. Y/n you're the only friend i've had in a long time." Melina's voice cracks, but she continues talking. "And most of the people i've had in my life were never there for me. So you're the only friend I have right now. I also really don't want that to end. Now this is probably getting really cheesy at this point and i'm sorry for that, but you need to know that I'm not leaving. Okay?"

By now both Y/n and Melina had tears streaming down their faces. Melina used her other hand, the one that wasn't holding Y/ns, and wiped her face with the back of her hand.

Y/n took her hand, the one Melina wasn't holding, and wiped the tears off of her face before pulling Melina off the bed with her and hugging the shit out of that lady.

Melina and Y/n stood in each other's arms for a good 30 minutes before letting go.

"You know Melina, that was really cheesy" She sniffled before giving the older woman another hug.

"I know." Melina laughed and hugged the young girl back. Melina let go first and looked at the girls tear streaked face. "Well, what do you want to do now?" Y/n looked at the bookshelf before walking over to it, grabbing two coloring books and colored pencils, and walking back over to Melina. Y/n held out one of the coloring books and Melina grabbed it.

"Color?" Melina nodded her head and they both sat down on the floor, coloring in peace for the rest of the night.
