 Third Person P.O.V.

Slenderman set Madelyn's body on a well-known path in the woods, then waited in the shadows for someone to come by. He cared about her; he really did. However, he couldn't let her know that, or that he remembered what he had offered the girl all those years ago. He teleported back to his mansion when he heard someone coming. He knew she would be in good hands; he always knew what was best for her. But maybe not this time...

                                        Carman's P.O.V.

I ran through the woods calling her name until I was hoarse. We have to find her. We just have to.
"Madelyn! Madelyn, where are you?" I heard Ben shout somewhere to my left.
I tripped and fell into a small hole. "Dammit." I mumbled and got up brushing myself off. I decided to run the path that Ben found when we were kids... maybe she was there! I have to have hope. I started running down the path when I spotted a familiar skateboard and satchel tangled in the briers. "Madelyn?" I called. I ran a little faster more desperate to see my life-long friend. "Mads?" I started searching wildly through the bushes to find a trace of her. Anything! I could still hear Ben and Madelyn's dad calling for her in the distance. She has to be here.
I could here the slight rustle of dead leaves and a moan. Madelyn?! I ran off the path a few paces and saw my best friend nestled by a tree. She's okay. I breathed a sigh of relief as I knelt beside her.
"I found her!" I shouted and soon Ben and Mr Harris were by my side.
Mr Harris picked up the satchel and skateboard. "I'll start the car." He said and walked off. He was never one for emotion. Ben picked Madelyn up and carried her out of the woods with me following him. He was crying, both of them were, even if they wouldn't admit it. I was over-joyed to have her back and safe. She shifted in Ben's arms when the sunlight hit her face. Ben pulled her closer as we approached the car. Mr Harris was in the driver's seat. I climbed in the passenger's side, and Ben sat in the backseat with a still sleeping Madelyn. We rode in silence except for the sound of Madelyn's sleepy whimpering and all of our breathing.
"Would you like me to drop you off at home?" Mr Harris asked.
"No!" Ben and I answered simultaneously.
"Okay." He sighed. "Home it is then."
After a few more minutes, we pulled into the driveway. I got Maddie's stuff, and Mr Harris unlocked the door. Ben lifted her gently out of the backseat and carried her through the open door.
"Put her on the couch. I'll make some coffee." Mr Harris complied and walked into the kitchen.
Ben layed her on the couch and covered her up. He always had the biggest crush on her. Maybe they could finally get together, since Jerkface dumped her. Bastard... I sat in the recliner beside the couch. "Benny, relax; she's okay now." I placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You didn't sleep all night; get some rest."
"I can't. What if she wakes up, and I'm not there?" He sounded rushed and worried.
        "She'll understand."
"I'm still not leaving her." Tears brimmed the corners of his eyes, but he wiped them away before they could fall. Ben, always the tough guy...
"How do you take your coffee?" Mr Harris called from the kitchen.
"Cream and sugar, please," I said snuggling into the recliner.
"Just sugar please," Ben said distractedly.
Mr Harris walked into the living room with a tray of cookies and coffee. He passes out the cups and mumbled thanks were exchanged.
"I never really got to know either of you. It's a shame that a father doesn't know his little girl's best friends," He sobbed into his cup.
"Mr Harris, it's fine, really. We know you've been kinda distant ever since your wife died. It was the natural human reaction to withdraw from other people." Ben always tried his best to comfort people, but his sincerity was over-run by facts. Poor guy.
"Thank you, Ben. Just do me one favor."
        "Yes, sir?"
"Never try to console me, again."
"Yes, sir." He was now very interested in the handle of his coffee mug.
"V-vati...? Ich just had die weirdest dream..." She was finally awake!
