                                                                   THE   ATTACK

                                                                    ( Madelyn's POV )

As I walk out, of the pathetic place the Board of Education attempts to call a school, I put on my ear-phones and get on my skate board. It was the last day of school, and I have absolutely nothing to do for summer. Then my favorite song by Green Day comes on "21 Guns".

"At least this makes me feel better," I thought "for now."

It was the last day of school and my boyfriend of six years dumped me. As I passed the old man's house who fought in World War II, I sing and sign " One, Twenty-one guns". He and my grandfather used to work together, true americans.

He smiled and shouted " the 21 gun salute ma'am!" and saluted to me. I saluted back as I passed by laughing.

I soon skate into my drive-way and leave my board propped by the door, my father's orders. when I walk through the door I yell "Vatti I'm home!" As you can see my family hails from Germany, but my parents and I born in the States. I run up the stairs to my bedroom, drop my bag and helmet in my room and run down the stairs, to the kitchen. I grab an apple from the bowl on the counter and sit down at the kitchen table facing my father. He doesn't even look up when he says, "How was school today ?"

"Fine." I reply munching on my small apple.

As I stood up from the table I tossed the apple core into the trash bin. " I have to pack for the sleep-over." I stated and walked out of the kitchen and mounted the stairs to my attic bedroom. I rushed to the dresser and extracted three pairs of jean shorts and three tops, both pairs of dance shoes, underwear, pajamas, things for make-overs, my iPod, and my phone and iPod chargers. I through all of that into a satchel  and left my room followed by my cat, Ceil.

"I'll be back in a few days, buddy." I cooed to my pet.

I run down the stairs and out the door shouting a good-bye to my father. I grab my board and skate down the street to my dance studio on Broad Street. I pull open the door and run up to the second level to find my dance teacher, Matt Watson, talking to my two best friends, Carman and Benjamin Smiths.

"So what are we doing today?" I ask my dance teacher of nine years.

" I think today we should have some fun." He replies with a gleam in his eye.

"Oh-no, Madelyn call the cops! Remember what happened last time?" Carman said cowering behind Ben and me.

"Don't be such a wimp Carman." Ben stated and looked at his twin sister.

                                                             * TIME SKIP (after the lesson)*

I walked down the stairs and out the door of the studio and thought to myself " Its shorter to go through the woods to get to the Smiths' house." So I walk around the back of the studio and start walking in the direction of the house. Then a raven swoops down, which causes me to trip over a tree root and hit my head on a rock.

"ow!" I muttered and grasped my ankle.

It was most likely broken and I probably had a mild concussion. " Well today just keeps getting better, and better." I thought. Stars and black spots floated into my vision as I thought I saw two boys walk up to me, one wearing a hood, and the other wearing a mask. " It can't be......" I thought and it came out as "wha-" and then I fell unconscious.
