━━ Being the son of the history teacher, Eren Jaeger was welcomed into the classroom with an awkward silence in the air. The boy rolled his eyes at all of his new classmates before sitting in a random seat near the window and far away from his dad. He was a few minutes late with his hair messily put up into a bun.
Everyone held their laughter, but the boy next to Y/n didn't try to hide his amusement. "He never fails to embarrass himself." Jean whispered to her.
She ignored him once Dr. Jaeger cleared his throat, smiling at everyone with a warm crinkle to his eyes. "Good morning class!" He cheerfully spoke, expecting the same energy but was left with the sound of coughs and fingers tapping against desks instead. His smile faltered for a second before smiling wide again. "I'm Dr. Jaeger, your history teacher this year!"
Sasha, who was sitting on the other side of Y/n, raised her hand. When Dr. Jaeger nodded at her, she asked, "Why do we have to call you Dr. Jaeger instead of Mr.?"
He smiled at the question. "Well, I used to be a doctor."
"Why aren't you anymore?"
He laughed at the question, walking to the white board and pointing at his neatly written name with the ruler he held.
"Well, you see, being a teacher fits better for my home life." He smiled at everyone. "You don't have to address me as Dr. Jaeger if you don't want to. Mr. is fine as well."
Y/n could tell that Sasha was staring at the side of her face, so when she turned to look at the girl, Sasha was giving her a look like Dr. Jaeger was suspicious to her. Y/n smiled at her friend before looking back at their teacher when he started talking again.
"By the way, the seats you are in won't be permanent." Everyone groaned, including Y/n. Jean just scoffed like the smart ass he was. "You will be moved in a few minutes to the seats I assigned to each of you over summer break."
Sasha leaned over to whisper something in Y/n's ear. "I hope we're somewhere near each other. I don't know anyone in this class other than you and Jean."
Y/n nodded, turning to look at Jean who was falling asleep with his head still up high. She snapped her fingers in front of his face and smirked when he flinched awake. He glared over at her instantly, rubbing his eyes sleepily.
"What do you want?"
The h/c haired girl's smirk grew wider, and Jean could see a evil look in her e/c eyes. "Oh nothing~" She sang out, pissing Jean off even more. "I just didn't think it was fair for you to sleep and not anyone else."
He shook his head in annoyance, looking away so that he could easily ignore her. He still tried his best not to sleep though, knowing that she would embarrass him if he did.
"Everyone, listen closely for your name."
Everyone was instructed to stand near the walls. The desks were set up as pairs, which Dr. Jaeger claimed was a way to keep the classroom from being too loud, but everyone knew from experience that it never worked out that way. So everyone stayed quiet, standing and waiting for Dr. Jaeger to point them to their new seats.
Jean was called before Sasha and Y/n, eyes widening at the sight of Eren Jaeger sitting in the chair next to his. Y/n laughed loudly at the fear in Jean's eyes, stopping immediately when Dr. Jaeger made eye contact with her. He sighed before continuing to call names.
When Y/n was called, her seat mate was to be called next. She sat in the seat, leaning back and crossing her arms lazily. She closed her eyes, daydreaming about going home to play video games with Sasha. She was reminded to ask Sasha if she wanted to come over that day after school.
The chair next to Y/n's screeched, so the girl slowly opened her eyes to see who her partner was.
As she turned, the first thing she saw was the frail hand of someone wearing black nail polish that was slowly coming off. Most fingers had a ring, every kind different from the other but each being thick and shiny. She looked away from the hands and faced the side profile of a girl with hair pulled up into two short pig tails, dark eye liner, a tight black choker, a cross earring, and a nose piercing.
Y/n felt her heart race at the sight of this girl. She was incredible looking, the type of girl in Y/n's dreams. The girl turned and made short eye contact with the stunned one, showing Y/n her full face. She had pretty black eyes, black lipstick, and bangs softly hitting her forehead with grace.
Y/n smiled at the pretty girl, deciding to finally stop staring and introduce herself. "Hey, what's up?"
The pretty girl turned and side eyed her, surprised to hear a voice speak up next to her. "What's up?" She questioned back, quirking up one of her eye brows. "Who says that?"
Her voice was pretty and smooth, but the words that came out made Y/n stop smiling and also quirk up a brow. "I do, why? Is that a bad thing to say or something?"
A small smile on the girl's black coated lips made Y/n sit back a little to observe her better. She watched the girl's movements like a hawk, wondering why such a question would make her smile with such softness to it. It was a pretty smile that Y/n felt her heart flutter at, but it was also rather confusing.
"It's not a bad thing." She whispered, loud enough for Y/n to hear, but the girl scooted closer anyways just in case. "I just haven't had anyone say that towards me."
Y/n smirked, an expression that was usually on her face. She was a playful person, so a genuine smile wasn't shown unless she truly meant it.
"Well, I directed it towards you, didn't I? So aren't you gonna repond?"
The girl in all black clothing looked up, her mouth hung open enough that a small round shape was in between her lips. Y/n tried her best not to look at the soft lips of this pretty girl, but she found it incredibly difficult.
"Well, I'm not sure how to respond to 'what's up?' Do I say I'm alright or just say hi?"
Y/n laughed at that, finding the question cute and hilarious at the same time. "You can say whatever you feel like saying! That's why it's a fun way to say hello to people!" She edged a little closer to the girl, pointing at her rings. "You have a cool set of rings, but don't they make your hand hurt from how heavy they are?"
She looked down at the rings Y/n was pointing at. "No, they actually aren't very heavy."
Before Y/n could respond, the shadow of a figure stood in front of the two girls, making the loud one look up with a witty smile.
"Sorry, sir." She apologized, not sounding apologetic one bit. "I was just getting to know my new partner."
Dr. Jaeger smiled at the girl and laughed. "There is no need to say sorry. I'm just glad Mikasa is engaging in a conversation with someone."
Y/n now noticed that everyone in class was talking to their new seatmate, so her apology now proved to Dr. Jaeger that she wasn't paying attention to anything since she sat down.
She shrugged off the embarrassing moment and turned to the girl next to her, who she now found out was named Mikasa. Her eyes widened when she noticed how red Mikasa's face was from Dr. Jaeger's comment a few seconds before.
"Well Mikasa, I'm Y/n." The girl smiled gracefully at the other, leaning back as she looked at Mikasa from the corner of her eye. "I hope we'll become close over the school year!"
Mikasa played with the loose strands of her hair as she turned to look at Y/n in a shy manner. "Yeah..."
