her feet stomp on the gravel, the noise combining with the plethora of feet jogging behind her. her legs are fast, but not moving at their full potential. she keeps a steady pace, giving everyone behind her a fair chance. but she knew she had the energy to sprint through the woods that she knew like the back of her hand.

"keep those feet moving!" she shouts, the group of men and women immediately quickening their pace. they weren't intimidated by her, but they respected her enough to listen to her commands. after all, she was one of program's commanders.

the group of seven soon-to-be recruits, and their commander, travel briskly through the woods. the smell of natural pine filled her nose, as the emerald leaves and chestnut trunks made up her vision. the energy was calming, yet strengthening at the same time. the perfect level for training.

the group was finally back at the training site, now exiting the woods and seeing multiple barns and sheds in front of them. a large obstacle course in the back. she escaped the shade of the woods, now entering the beaming sunlight. she spots the other commander a few yards ahead, his arms crossed against his chest and a small smile hidden on his face. her lips pulled into a grin, as she shook her head. she used all of her strength to not run after him, knowing she had to keep the steady tempo for the group of recruits behind her. it only took her a minute to successfully jog up to her colleague, out of breath as she comes to a stop and the recruits stop as well. they all sit on the ground, or hunch over, catching their breath and trying to regain energy for the next step in training.

"afternoon, commander rapp." she calls out, taking a few steps forward, a smile still plastered on her face.

"afternoon, commander wilson." he responded, leaning down to pick up a water bottle that was by his ankles. he acts like he is about to hand the water bottle to his girlfriend, making her reach for the bottle. but she stops when she notices him screwing the cap off and connecting the rim of the bottle to his lips, taking a long sip. she chuckles softly as she shakes her head, and snatches the bottle from rapp's hands. he wipes the water, around his mouth, off with the back of his hand and smiles down upon wilson. she knew the two of them were being a bit too flirtatious, being ultimately unprofessional, but there were days where she truly could not help herself. doesn't mean she still wasn't serious about her job.

after taking a sip of the water, she hands the water bottle back to rapp and rests her hands on her hips. "you taking them to the obstacle course?" she asks rapp.

"yeah, gonna run them through some simple drills. see who can't keep up and who's a show off." mitch responds, nodding his head.

"want me to wait to report so we can tell stan together?"

"no, no, it's alright. i know you're dying to tell him your report." he nudges aaliyah, teasing her.

aaliyah playfully shoved her boyfriend. "don't act like you aren't excited about this promotion too."

mitch raises his hands up slightly, surrendering. "whatever you say."

mitch looked over at the fresh meat, they called training recruits, noticing their now regained energy. it was time for their next step in training. he looked back down at aaliyah, resting a hand on her shoulder. "i'll see you in an hour."

she puts her hand around his forearm, softly. "knock 'em dead." she whispered. she then dropped her hand, and started to walk up the stair steps that lead her up to her god-father's house, that was one previously her's. mitch stepped forward, now taking charge of the potential recruits.

"afternoon, everybody, i'm commander rapp. let's see how you weak links do on an obstacle course, shall we?"

he started to jog with the group towards the obstacle course, as aaliyah pushed open the front door and walked through the kitchen to hurley's office. she knocked on the door twice, before entering, seeing stan at his desk wearing glasses and reading reports that stansfield and kennedy had given him. he peaked his head up, smiling as he noticed his god-daughter at the door. "whatcha got for me, kiddo?"
