The masked driver sweats wildly under his mask as he struggles to control the wheel. The Villamor gateway is visible now, people are all dressed up and paying attention to the stage. It was too late.
Tiabella Luka promised to protect him but she didn't mean it.
--
The loud bang coming from the gates arrived before the crowd could even react to the video. A car destroys the gates and runs straight to where people are still standing, a few guards run up to hold it back only to injure themselves.
All was silent as another group of guards came to grab the driver inside it. They slam him face-down on the car's hood. The mask slides off his face to reveal a face so familiar, taking Zelena aback. And suddenly, Zelena's phone vibrates to a message from Cayla.
' that's the exact same car from our surveillance camera '
Her heart racing, Zelena texted back while her sisters walk towards the scene.
' and that guy? '
' you gave him your father's number. that's alec rosales, my assistant '
Before more questions could enter Zelena's mind, her head looks up when she hears police car sirens. She runs forward to look for Cayla but she finds her being taken away by the police. Her parents are being held back from reaching her.
Cayla stops to look at Zelena as she was being pushed to enter a police car. "Zelena, I didn't do it. I swear in my life." She whispers. There she goes. The car door shuts and the officers take Rosales and Cayla away.
--
Zelena sits in the interrogation room beside officer Javier's seat, with Alec Rosales and Cayla Villamor on the opposite of the table. It was silent, and the room's lighting made the situation look serious.
Zelena wanted nothing more but to hear what Rosales has to say. The USB Cayla gave Zelena is in Javier's laptop.
Cayla. It had only been a few times she has actually won Zelena's consideration. But not trust. Never. Cayla did seem to have a good job at rooting her way into other people's sympathy and Zelena always tried to avoid it ever since. So she played along and boy, was she an easy prey. Handing over the USB. Trying to put the blame on her own assistant, the look on Rosales' face says it all.
Zelena jumped at the sound of officer Javier sitting on his chair. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, I've no intro to offer, let's settle this once and for all. Why the sabotage, Mr. Rosales? What anger did you have that made you crash your car into that gate, huh? People were hurt, Rosales."
"That wasn't my car." Rosales blurted out.
"Excuse me?"
"Someone made me do it." He was raising his head now.
"Miss Villamor?" Zelena asked.
Rosales shook his head. Officer Javier laughed. "Who, then? The Conjuring?"
Zelena leaned forward now. "Did Cayla had anything to do with any of this, by chance?"
Cayla stares between the three of them, listening intently.
"That Chloroform bottle. It made me panic. It was Cayla who sent me to get Mr. Luka's phone number that day, so when I heard about Cayla heading to the police headquarters a few days ago, it made me feel like I had something to do with it." Rosales answered. "I was afraid I might be arrested."
"I told you the Chloroform wasn't mine!" Cayla spoke up.
"If all you wanted was to escape being questioned, what made you give it up and have yourself caught by crashing a car?" Officer Javier asks, ignoring Cayla.
