I humble myself before the lord
And get on my knees to pray
That some day these words I write
Help me reach heights that MJ
Did on the basketball court
Writing for me is my sport
I hope I don't run into the same obstacles
That ended my hopes of hoop dreams
"Coming up short"
but not because of height this time
Will I ever get the hype ?
Be the kind of success story ?
That will put me up there with Mike
Or will I just end up being another
afterthought
Only time will tell
and it feels like hell waiting.
I pray to God that someday I make it
If I fall short
I don't know if I can take it....
