Chapter 16

The women again looks at the sky and walks away silently from us. El is worried. She walks back to the car. I follow her. We sit inside the car , and there is silence. The honking becomes louder and louder. In all this chaos, I forgot the fact that we were in the middle of the busy Willstern streets.

We continue on our way to the Royal Hotel. El is completely silent. I guess she is probably worried about the women's fucking words.

"El, that women was just fooling around. What she means is nothing!", I try to assure El.

Ellen turns to look at me and I concentrate on my driving.

"No Jordan everything she says fucking happens. Do you know what happened........" , Ellen tells me all of her past incidents with the women and how the women's fortune turned out to be true.
I am worried now.

"Let's not go Jordan. Lets just turn back and go home.", Ellen says.

I look at the map and we have already reached the Royal Hotel. I can spot the family already waiting for us at the entrance. El now there is no way that we can back out.

I park the Ford, next to James's black jaguar and we get down of the car. Sam is too excited to see the crowd and enjoys the loud music playing.

El is worried and she's looking down. Nesta greets us meet with a smile. She hugs Ellen.

"Come on let's go in. I cant wait to eat the cake!", Launa jumps in excitement.

We head inside the Hotel. There are so many people in here, The waiters are serving beverages and the music is way too loud.

"El come on, you don't want Sharon to be worried about your behavior. Be nice. Be happy.", I try to cheer Ellen up.

She is now looking up and smiling at the people around her. I like her this way. All adorable and cheerful. I have never been to a party with my family. Even if I had, it was all about mom and dad being all cozy and faking smiles, to prove others that our family was fucking perfect.

But This is a whole new experience for me. To be here with El and her family is like a dream come true for me.

"The Danes are here!", Sharon squeaks.

The Danes are very warm people. They welcome us with a tight hug and a face full of smile.

"Who's this? Never seen him before.", Mrs. Danes, asks.

"Ohh Jordan is like our son. He's Sharon's bestfriend, Kate's younger son. He has come all the way from New York.", James words are always sweet. He is like a father figure to me. Ellen , Nesta and Sam is lucky to have a father like him, who is more like a friend than a father.

"Jordan, this is Ruby , her husband Richard and their daughter Daisy. Its Daisy's birthday today.", Sharon introduces me to the Danes and I shake hands with Daisy and tell,
"Happy Birthday Daisy. You look indeed very pretty." Daisy gives me a pleasing smile.

I can feel Ellen's presence, is suddenly missing. I turn around and look. She is not there. "Excuse me", I go around searching for Ellen. The hall is way too crowded, random people giving you a hug, kids stopping you at ways , random chicks trembling on you and pulling your hair, it all seems as though I am at some fucking New York club.

I somehow make my way out of the crowded hall and loud music.

There is a small passage which I notice, as I cross the hall. It is quiet, and there are no people actually there. I head towards the passage.

As I walk, the passage opens up to a beautiful garden. A big fountain right in front of me , its green everywhere and its peaceful. I look right, and find Ellen standing at a distance, turning her back to me . I walk towards her.

"What are you looking at El?"
