michael was playing around with his pack of cards when he got the urge. the cards fell from his hands. he had felt this urge many times before but he didn't realise it would come so quickly.
he needed to dye his hair.
he rushed to get his wallet and keys before bursting out of his apartment and started a quick pace towards the supermarket only a few blocks away. michael knew that when he got the urge he needed to listen to it straight away. it was like a gut instinct. he always had the best colour judgement when he was in the zone. he had tried to dye his hair when he hadn't had the urge and he was laughed at for months. he knew he would be bald soon but he would deal with that when the time came.
michael walked up to the hair dye aisle and it was like his hands had a mind of their own. he didn't even really know what boxes he had grabbed, he just knew that he was handing over the money and unlocking the door to his apartment. and then he was re-colouring his lilac hair.
he looked in the mirror, unsure of what he'd just done. his hair was covered in the foils that came in the box and his wrists were stained a purple-blue colour where the gloves had ended. michael washed his hands and the basin the best he could then sat down in front of the coffee table to wait the necessary time needed.
michael picked up the cards again and started to play around with them. he thought he would play a game of solitaire but by the time the alarm for his hair had gone off, he had done something else. michael went off and revealed to himself his galaxy-like hair, washed it, then went back to the cards. he was surprised by what waited for him there. he had built something.
a house of cards.
