— Chapter Two —

Everything hurt. Especially his head. Donghyuck groaned as he opened his eyes, feeling the constant buzz in his head that wouldn't go quiet. He sat up, a blanket falling off from his shoulders.

Deducing by the human heater next to him, he concluded that Jeno was still fast asleep. Donghyuck wished the same for himself, wanting nothing more than to go back into the blissful ignorance of the world around him that was sleep. However his stomach denied him any chance of that as his insides twisted. Donghyuck whimpered, involuntarily getting up and to the bathroom. Maybe he shouldn't have drank that much yesterday.

After what was about half an hour but felt like ten excruciating years, Donghyuck exited the bathroom again. He felt the sweat on his forehead, whiling it away with the sweater paws of his (well, Jeno's) hoodie.

"Morning Donghyuck, you don't look too well." Jaemin greeted him in the kitchen. Said man also handed Donghyuck a glass of water which he gratefully took and downed in one go. His throat was dry and burning still and the water felt good, soothing out the soreness at least.

"You guys had fun last night, eh?" Jaemin asked him. Donghyuck hummed, sitting at the table in misery as he massaged his temples.

"Yeah, guessed so. You were quite loud really." Jaemin babbled. Donghyuck wished he would just shut up but obviously didn't want to tell Jaemin that, especially not when the man had been nothing but the sweetest to him over the past few months they had gotten to know each other.

"Jeno drank even more than me, he's the one you should be worried about." Donghyuck noted, hoping it would make Jaemin go and check up on Jeno but he was around. Instead Jaemin placed down another cup of water and sat down next to him.

"Ah, I know Jeno. He's got a pretty good alcohol tolerance." the man waved his hand dismissively, smiling at Donghyuck from the side. God, how could one person be that smiley on a Saturday morning?

Donghyuck let his head drop flat on the table, the action causing a grounding pain to spread throughout his entire body. Donghyuck actually welcomed the pain, it made him remember he was awake and it kind of distracted him from his headaches.

"You like Jeno, eh?" he asked, speaking down at the table. His voice must have been muffled but still Jaemin understand as he replied in a flustered voice "Sure, he is a nice roommate."

"Just a roommate?" Donghyuck laughed, now propping his head on his crossed arms on the table and looking up at Jaemin. He barely saw the man with a blush on his face, only with Jeno who was the only reason why Jaemin ever grew flustered. Just like now when he tried stutter out an excuse of them being good friends as well.

"You know, you should go for it." Donghyuck told – interrupted – him. Jaemin stopped dead in his tracks, mouth still open. He must have decided that there was no use of denying his crush in front of Donghyuck anymore as he let out a long sigh.

"Should I? I don't think he likes me." he asked afterwards. Donghyuck gave him a toothy smile, feeling somewhat sorry for his best friend's roommate.

"I can't tell you if he does," he stated, "But I know how fond he is of you and how you two fit together like puzzle pieces. He deserves you and you deserve him."

"Thank you, Donghyuck." Jaemin smiled, now seeming more hopeful. Donghyuck smiled back up at him. He truly hoped that something could develop between the two, they were just too cute to waste that potential.

"Anyway, you want some toast?" Jaemin changed the topic. Donghyuck laughed but nodded, his stomach now aching for food as it had spilled all its contents out earlier. Jaemin prepared him not only toast but also some snacks and even gave him another glass of water. Donghyuck felt somewhat bad watching him but he had known Jaemin for long enough to know that he would refuse any help offered, especially in the kitchen.
