Rainey's POV
Danny and I walked in an uninterrupted silence until we had travelled out of the school building and to a car, I assume is his. When we slide in the car he turns to look at me, his eyes scanning me for any injury.
"Are you okay?" Danny asks in his brotherly voice that he always used to use. I hesitate before answering, physically I was fine but the emotions that swirled within me was causing a mental turmoil.
"I'm okay." I finally answered. "What are you doing here though? What happened?" the guilt of running away was pressing on me much harder then usual, the guilt swam within me and almost became suffocating.
"That's a long story Rain." Danny frowned, I could practically see the wheels twirling in his mind, he was clearly trying to decide where to start or how to start.
"Please Danny, I need answers." I frown. He gives me a sad smile and nods.
"Let's go somewhere more private and you can ask me all the questions you want. I'll answer them as best I can." Danny promises, I smile at him and nod. The scent of my older brother has been one I've missed for so long, his scent Brought safety and as much as I loved Andy and Mary they weren't the same as having my brother here with me. Although the protective instincts I had over them were still strong, my mind was wondering to Andy until I remembered Axel was there and Logan's promise that Axel would keep him safe. For some bizar reason that was enough for me.
We drove for around 20 minutes until we came to a large house, the scent screamed 'werewolf' and Skye was on edge. There was a lingering scent of Axel suggesting he visited frequently or was here within the last few hours. That comforted me for some reason. Something about Axel was comforting.
"We're here." Danny informs, I smile and we climb out of the car and together we walk into the house. I follow him up a flight of stairs and to a room covered in his scent. I don't allow myself to scan my surroundings, I wanted to feel like I could trust my brother to keep me safe.
"This is my room." he introduces, I scan his room with my eyes it was simple and clean but you could tell it was lived in.
"It's nice." I complimented awkwardly, unsure of what to say next. Danny sat on his large bed and tapped beside him, I quickly moved to sit down.
"You have questions." He stated.
"You have answers." I respond. He let's out a small chuckle and nods.
"I have some." Danny agrees. "Where do you want to start?"
"What happened?" I ask nervously.
"You mean that night..." he states, I nod. "It's a long story Rain." he repetes his previous statement.
"I need to know." I'm practically begging at this point. In my mind I have figured out some of what happened but I needed true answers and not just things I've pieced together. The guilt of leaving has only be slightly lessened by seeing my older brother alive and well, but it wasn't enough. Danny's mouth opens and closes as he tries to find the right words.
"For weeks dad had been getting threats from another pack." Danny starts. "I'm sure you know that he was on edge since he... Visited more often." I looked down, my mind replaying my fathers 'visits', Danny places a hand on mind before continuing. "That night they attacked, they were after you Rain, I was on my way to come find you when I was attacked. I was almost a gonner when you did whatever you did and made everything stop. When you ran away it was a few minutes before we all moved again. You saved me Rainey. They left soon after you did, some of our pack and theirs tried to track you."
"They were after me? Why?" I question, worry travelling through me as I wonder why they were after me and then it hit me that Andy and Mary could be in danger too.
