It was yet another first day of uni for dahye. She had been going to this university for over a year now, still adjusting to having new responsibilities, hating all her classes but enjoying all the new found freedom that came with dorming in college.
Hearing the obnoxious beeping of her alarm, dahye groaned covering her head with her pillow in hopes of having the noise muffled out.
"Ugh, turn it off hye" Sora, her roommate who was also the captain of the volleyball team, mumbled, turning over in her bed. "I don't have class for another 3 hours"
Still half asleep, dahye reached out for her phone to turn the alarm off, falling back asleep right after. 5 minutes wouldn't hurt, right?
About an hour later, her phone goes off again, this time resembling that of a fire truck. dahye jumps up a little too quickly, becoming slightly dizzy but answering the phone nonetheless knowing the ringtone belonged to one person, her best friend.
He was the captain of the basketball team but also a part of the football team. dahye considered him to be the ace amongst the athletes at their school and while he often rejected that term, there were plenty of people who believed it to be true. The two were almost inseparable, being best friends since high school to being at every game together and somehow managing to get at least a class or two together every semester
"What is it Mark?" She groggily spoke, lifting her head up to make sure she didn't wake Sora.
"Bro, class starts in 15 minutes and I didnt see you in the dining hall for breakfast, were you up late with j-"
"No nope , definitely not, stall the professor for me pleaseeee?" dahye begged as she rummaged through her drawers looking for something to wear.
Mark sighed on the other line knowing this was how the rest of the semester would be before replying. "I'll try, but you really should stop hanging around-"
"Thank you so much, I owe you one." dahye quickly cut him off, ending the call.
"Ughhhh." she groaned, laying down yet again. The first week of classes meant class introductions, freshmen and cheerleading tryouts. This year, she was co-captain and internally was not ready to help decide who was good enough to be on their cheer team.
