Chapter 1: Encounter

It was a beautiful and rather quiet day at Station 19, they had only had one call. Maya was talking to Andy about how her lady lover
abandoned her and that she didn't care..."well" Andy said "you'll get someone else to fool around with, captain"Andy said while laughing "As long as I don't fall in love, it's ok" Maya fired back with a smile. After she said that, the alarm went off:"Aid car 19, ladder 19, please respond, 1156 Bellevue avenue, possible fire and rescue". The whole team ran and off they went. When they arrived at the scene, it was pretty dramatic, there were a lot of people, it looked like there was some kind of party.   "Hello, I'm Captain Bishop from Station 19, who's the owner of the house?" "Me, Andrew Deluca, please, my sister Carina Deluca is trapped with Amelia Shepherd and Teddy Altman, we're all doctors at Grey-Sloan Memorial, I tried to get in but I couldn't, please save them" Andrew said. "We're gonna do eveything we can sir" "Herrera, Hughes, go inside" Andy and Vic run and started searching the house "Hello, Seattle Fire Department, can you hear me? HELLO!" "Hello, Carina! Amelia! Teddy! Can you hear me??? Vic shouted ..."Up here" (someone said)..."I'm coming" Herrera responded. The fire had taken over the house, when Andy tried to climb the stairs it almost collapsed and she fell. "Herrera, Hughes are you ok? Maya shouted through the radio"I need some backup" Vic said. "I'm coming" said Bishop, although the Captain should stay out of the scene, something told her she had to go. She entered the scene and ran to Andy, helped her and all three of them them went upstairs and rescued the three people trapped in the bathroom.   "I need the ladder, we're going out the window, please prepare the aid car" Maya gave the  instructions. When they got out , one of them had fainted and had some burn injuries. "That's my sister" said Andrew, trying to intervene. "I'm a doctor let me help". "Sir, this is my scene, please" Maya replied.  "She doesn't have a pulse and she's got possible 3rd degree burns " Herrera informed. "Ok, I need an ambu bag, Herrera please get it, maya instructed, dispatcher I need another aid car" "Arriving at the scene in two minutes" the dispatcher responded" Starting CPR, one two three four, come on, come on,come on! one two three four" said Maya  repeatedly while also giving Carina mouth to mouth resuscitation.  After a few minutes, Carina came back and saw the beautiful firefighter that had helped her. "I'm Captain Bishop, you were in a fire, You'll be ok, the aid car will take you to the hospital" "thank you" Carina replied. Warren and Montgomery took Carina to the hospital, they were received by Bailey: "38 Year old female with burn injures, possible smoke inhalation, she flatlined twice" said Ben. "Ok, take her to trauma 1" "Carina, you're at Grey-Sloan, you'll be fine". Once at the trauma room, Bailey ordered some tests and paged Jackson so he could take care of the burns "This burn on the arm looks bad, I'm gonna need to take some skin graft,  book an OR  and tell them we're coming" ordered Jackson. The surgery went well and  Carina was ok, although she had to stay in the hospital for some days. In the mean time, she couldn't stop thinking about Bishop, waking up after the fire and seeing those gorgeous blue eyes was the best thing ever. She thought that maybe, she should go by the station and thank her, yet again. When she was discharged, she went straight to see the girl with the shiny eyes. "Hi, I'm Dr. Carina Deluca, I'm here to see Captain Bishop" she said to Travis. "Captain, someone's looking for you" "let them in Montgomery" Maya responded. When she saw who it was, she couldn't believe it, she was in awe. How could someone be so beautiful?. "Hi, maybe you don't remember me, I'm Dr. Carina Deluca, you rescued me from a fire a few days ago" "Hi, I...yes, yes I remember you, are you ok?" Said Maya looking right into her eyes. "Yes, I had to have surgery on my arm but otherwise I'm fine, I just thought I would come by and thank you, again, for saving my life" Carina said while she smiled. "That's not necessary, I...um...that's my job really" She smiled and blushed. "Are you free tonight, can I buy you dinner?" Carina asked. "Oh, um, I don't know, it's complicated, sorry" (Maya was nervous and when this happened she tended to say no to someone, even if that someone was a very hot Italian doctor). "Ok, so, if you change your mind, I'll be at Bernie's restaurant at 7 pm" Carina knew her game well. "Ok, said Maya, bye" "bye, thanks again".  That night, Carina dressed up with a red coat, a shirt, pants and boots. She did her make up and went to the restaurant. "A glass of red wine please" she asked the bartender. "Right away Ma'am". An hour had passed and the girl with the bright eyes hadn't shown up yet. Carina was a little disappointed, she thought maybe Maya wasn't gay or she was in a relationship. She went to the bathroom and when she got out, she saw a blonde girl searching all over the place. "Oh my god" thought Carina. She walked towards Maya and said: "I see you changed your mind" "well, ye-yes, he-here I am" Maya could barely speak, this woman was stunning. "Wanna grab a bite?" Carina suggested "Yes, please, I'm starving" Maya said and they sat down. The night went on smoothly. "So tell me, what's your specialty?" Maya asked. "I'm an OB/GYN at Grey- Sloan" "Oh wow, so, you bring babies into this terrifying world?" Said Maya inquisitively. "Yeah, basically, at first I came here for my study" "your study?" Maya replied by opening her eyes. "Yeah, I was doing a research on female orgasms" Carina explained naturally. Maya almost chocked with a piece of steak "Oh, wow, that's, um, pretty amazing" Maya still surprised. "Yeah it is, people need to understand that we as women can feel pleasure as well and we're entitled to it" "Sure, I agree, so how did you do the study?" Maya said this and blushed, while  Carina was looking at her,  eyes filled with desire.  "I had volunteers masturbate in the MRI  machine and studied their brains while they orgasm" Carina explained "Oh, fun study" Maya laughed. "Yeah, it was incredible" Carina smiled back at her.  "Are you single, taken?" Carina asked . "No, actually, I was just telling one of my friends the other day about how this person left me" Maya responded then took a sip from her cup. "Oh, so was this person a girl?" Carina wanted to know for sure if Maya was into girls. "Yes, I...am bisexual actually" "Me too, I was dating a boy but they can be pretty stupid" said Carina laughing. "I know" Maya agreed. They continued laughing and talking to each other for hours. They felt comfortable with one another, after a while, Maya said: "I need to get up really early tomorrow, should we do this another time?" "Yes, please, let me give you my number" Carina said. They walked out of the restaurant and Maya added: "I had a really nice time Dr. Deluca" "Please, call me Carina, and I had a lovely time too". They stared at each other for a while, admiring their beauty and smiling. When they were about to say good bye, Maya tried to shake hands, but Carina grabbed Maya's hand, put her hands in Maya's face with both hands and kissed her, a sweet, tender kiss, Maya was taken by surprise but she kissed her back and felt like the world was at her feet.  "Good night bella"Carina added "Good night gorgeous" Maya replied as they both smiled. After a few minutes, they took off in opposite directions. But looking back one more time...
