Chapter 14

Y/n's POV

On the weekend Reki, Langa, Miya and I decided to hang out. "You guys wanna go to 7/11 and get some slushies?" Reki asked. "Sure" Langa replied. We skated to 7/11 and we got our slushies. Reki got a Coke slushy, Langa got an orange one, Miya got a blue raspberry slushy and I got a cherry slushy. "Who gets an orange slushy?" Miya asked. "What? It's good" Langa replied. "Whatever makes you happy bro" Miya replied. "Leave his taste in slushies alone, it may be questionable but at least he's happy" Reki explained. "Sounds like your taste in women" Miya replied. "I- that was actually good" Reki said. "Wanna trade slushies?" I asked Miya. "Sure" He replied to me. We both chugged the slushies and got brain-freezes. "Great...now you guys have purple lips" Reki said. "You ain't rocking with our purple lips?" I asked him. "That's not the point, Cherry's gonna- never mind" Reki stopped. "Ohhhhh" We said in unison. "Joe said that Cherry was gonna murder me" Miya said with a concerned smile on his face. "That's kinda our fault" Reki said. "What?" I asked. "Remember when you guys went to the arcade the other day?" Langa asked. "Yeah, what about it?" Miya asked. "Well....we were there too and we told Cherry" Reki said. "Reki I swear, I'll strangle you!" I yelled at him. "That's not very Sakurayashiki of you" Reki replied. "Shut up, both me and my uncle would slap you" I replied. "Why does Langa look like he kissed the Lorax?" Miya asked. "Okay, you're wrong for that" I said to him. "I'm not wrong, I'm honest" Miya said to me. "I can't argue with that statement" I said. "You guys wanna go to Joe's for some food before he opens for lunch?" Reki asked. "Yeah, I'm getting kinda hungry" Miya said.

Miya's POV

We skated to Joe's restaurant and Cherry was there having a glass a wine. "Hey" Reki said. "Can you give us food please?" Y/n asked. She looked at me and gave me a look that said: the heck is going on here. "Oh Miya, it's very nice to see you" Cherry said to me with a fake smile. Everyone could feel the tension. "Nice to see you too" I said with an awkward smile. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom" Y/n said. I knew she just wanted to avoid the situation but I didn't say anything. Reki and Langa were having pasta. "So Miya, what possessed you to kiss Y/n?" Cherry asked. "Huh? I didn't kiss her, she kissed me" I quickly explained. There was an awkward silence. "You just ratted yourself out" Joe said to me. Both Reki and Langa started laughing. I sat down and put my head down on the table. "Wait, so you never knew a thing?" Reki asked. "Nope, I lied to get the truth out of him since this gorilla didn't wanna say anything" Cherry explained. Joe ignored his insult. "Well if it makes you feel any better, she only kissed me on my cheek" I said to him with my head still down. He let out a laugh. "You know, it really doesn't matter, Y/n's growing up and I can't do anything about it. So I can't get mad if she gets a boyfriend" Cherry explained. I raised my head up. "I'm back" Y/n announced. I smiled a bit when I saw her. "Awww look he's blushing" Reki pointed out. "No I'm not!" I lied. We ate lunch and then we left. Reki and Langa had found an empty parking garage and we skated in there for a while. Reki did a rail slide off some stairs and fell on his back. "Owwww" He yelled in pain. Langa helped him up. I taught Y/n a few tricks. I held onto her hand so she didn't fall. "You know, you should join the skateboarding team" I said to her. She looked up from her board. "Nah, it's not really my thing" She said to me. "You're amazing at skating and it'd be fun to have you there with me" I tried to reason with her. "I'm not that good with people I don't know" Y/n explained to me. "Two best friends in a room, they might kiss" Reki ruined the moment. We both stared at him. "Hey Miya have you watched the show Hunter X Hunter?" Langa asked me. "Yeah why?" I asked him. "You kinda remind me of Killua" He said. "Okay, I'll take it" I said to him. "That's funny, I used to have a crush on Killua when I was younger" Y/n said blushing a bit. "Okay but Gon's aunt is just- hooo" Reki said. "I like Shizuku" Langa said. "Okay but that one girl from the hunter exam was cute" I said. "The one who killed the snake charmer?" Y/n asked. "Yeah, I think her name was Ponzu" I said. "Didn't she die?" Reki asked. "Shhhh we don't talk about that" I said.

Y/n's POV

I could tell Miya really liked talking about Hunter X Hunter. I tried doing the kick flip that Miya was teaching me but I fell. Miya was quick to help me up. "Thanks" I said to him. "Hey! What are you kids doing here!" A cop yelled at us. "Crap, let's go" Reki said. We skated as fast as we could possibly go. Luckily, we lost that guy. "My god, we could have gotten arrested" I said. "But we didn't get arrested" Reki said. I glared at that idiot. "Well, let's go to the skate park, somewhere we won't get arrested" Miya suggested. We ended up going with his plan and we skated for a while. After a bit, I saw those guys who were hitting on my mom the other day. "You gotta be kidding me" I said to myself. "What's wrong?" Langa asked. "Those guys" I said vaguely. "What about them?" He asked. "They were hitting on my mom the other day" I explained to him. "Oh you're that girl with the hot mom, can ask her if we can come over for dinner" One of them noticed me. I took a deep breath in to gather my thoughts. "My mother doesn't like trash in her house, sorry" I replied calmly. They were both speechless. I turned to Langa. "Would you guys like to come over for dinner later?" I asked him. "Sure" He said to me.

Miya's POV

Reki and I saw everything go down. I simply smiled cause I knew Y/n was an amazing young woman and that she was the one that I had feelings for. We stayed at the skate park until the sun started to set. "Wow, the sunset is so pretty, we should take a picture" Y/n said admiring the setting sun. "Reki, Langa, get over here" Y/n said. We took a picture together and we went to Y/n's house. "You know, I've never had friends like you guys, you're very special to me. Thank you for being so kind to me even when I'm rude" Y/n said. "You're a good person deep down, we're happy to be your friends" Reki said to her.

Y/n's POV

Once Reki, Langa, Miya were done having dinner with us they went home. "I like your friends, they seem nice" My mom said to me. "They're the best" I smiled. "Well I'm happy you made friends" My mom said. "Can I ask you something?" I asked her. "Sure" She replied. "Why did we move back to Okinawa?" I asked. "I missed being home and I missed my brother" She replied. "I know he missed you too" I replied to her. Me and my mom had a complicated relationship but with time, it got better and better and I learned about things I wondered about for years.
