Elizabeth discovered the hard way that the Chinese border patrol were no joke.

To be fair, she had no idea that she was entering another country. The last time she checked her phone she was still several hundred miles in Kazakhstan. However, she supposed that she should've anticipated it since she had been flying ridiculously fast and as such covered that distance in less than an hour.

Which meant that her current situation—hiding underneath some dense bushes while the border patrol searched for her nearby—was completely her fault.

Perhaps she needed to explain how she got here in the first place.

She started off her journey just as intended: she transformed into Night Angel, grabbed her things, and flew off in the direction that the compass pointed. As she traveled, she was reminded again how thankful she was that she had Silver's miraculous.

Seriously. If she had Chat Noir's or Ladybug's miraculous, there would be no chance for her to complete this mission in the allotted time she set for it. The wings that came with Silver's miraculous were a lifesaver. Due to their massive size, they were able to lift her weight easily. This meant that when she had no reason to intentionally slow her speed down (like she had to in Paris to properly scan the streets and turn), she could go extremely fast.

She had managed to fly all the way from Paris to the west border of China practically overnight. Sure, due to the time changes, it was probably around noon where she was, but that wouldn't matter since Elizabeth was heading right back to Paris once this was over.

Well, as long as she didn't get arrested by the border patrol that is.

Elizabeth stilled as she remembered her situation. Taking a deep, quiet breath, she slowly turned her head, looking around for the guards. They seemed more interested in searching the trees instead of the ground. She would be safe in the underbrush for a little bit.

Her heart was racing, but Elizabeth knew she wasn't in any imminent danger as long as she played her cards right. All the group saw was a black blur; nothing that exposed her. Heck, from the way they were searching the trees, it seemed that they were looking for a drone or bird instead of a person. As long as they didn't spot her again they'd probably shrug it off and go back to their duty. This meant that Elizabeth should be able to sneak away if she was careful.

However, there was one little issue; she was detransformed. She had no choice; Silver needed a break, and the wings were too big a hassle to try and hide. Besides, Elizabeth was dressed in camouflage hiking gear, so her civilian form was the best choice if one wanted to disguise themselves. Unfortunately, this meant that she wouldn't have superhuman speed and agility to help her escape.

"We're in a bit of a pickle, huh?" Jumbe whispered in her ear, keeping a close eye out for the guards. Elizabeth huffed but didn't dare to respond.

"We've been in tighter situations," Silver responded for her, scarfing down some beef jerky to regain energy. "We can make it out of this one just fine. Just keep your head on, Elizabeth."

"Do you want to transform using me?" Jumbe asked curiously. Elizabeth shot him a bland look, gently poking his chest with her index finger. "right, the color would stick out like a sore thumb," the scorpion mumbled, slightly downcast. Elizabeth rubbed the top of his head as an apology.

The hazel-eyed girl shifted, carefully bringing up her compass so she could look at it. It seemed that she would have to travel further into China to reach her destination. Elizabeth let out an inaudible sigh before straightening up and fastening her backpack around her, resigning to her fate. She had to keep going.
