Emily sat down in her office and sighed as she closed her eyes. It wasn't even 10am and Emily was already super stressed. So much had happened and there were so many issues she had to deal with in so little time. It was always other people's stupid mistakes that she had to deal with and she was tired of it. Realistically she needed to teach her subordinates how to properly do a file but she needed to find the time to do that.
She groaned as JJ walked through the door to her office with another file and an apologetic smile on her face.
"It's not another case. Don't worry". With a sigh of relief. Emily grabbed her keyboard to start logging on to the FBI computer system. She typed her password in, not realising it was wrong and when it failed to load the home screen, she poked multiple keys harshly. "Em, calm down".
"I can't. I have so much to do, Jay. I need to type up these case notes and it looks like you have another file for me to fix". Emily took her time typing in her password again and she relaxed when it worked and the computer logged on to the system.
"Then I can take care of this one to ease your workload, okay?" Emily nodded and JJ walked towards her desk. She dropped the file onto the desk and sat on Emily's thighs. Soft arms wrapped around her waist to keep her from falling which made JJ smile. She rested her head against Emily's, their foreheads touching and she gripped her wife's shoulders lightly.
"Thank you". Emily's eyes fluttered closed at the closeness of her wife. She needed this type of physical contact right now and it seemed like JJ knew that. Emily sighed as JJ pressed her lips against her forehead.
"Take your time doing the case file and tell me if you need help, okay? I don't want you overworking yourself". Emily grabbed JJ's hand and squeezed it as JJ's lips pressed against her forehead again.
"I promise. Can you work here today? I don't really want to be alone". JJ agreed and went into the bullpen to grab her laptop and bag so that she could work with Emily in her office.
"Coffee?" Emily nodded as she flicked through the file and JJ kissed her forehead once more as she went to grab them both a mug of coffee.
When she came back, JJ put the mug down on Emily's desk, kissing her forehead again before plugging her laptop in so that she could sit on the couch and flick through the file Luke had somehow managed to mess up.
After adding a lot of sticky notes to each incorrect section, JJ correctly re-wrote the file and double checked everything before submitting it to her boss. Kissing Emily's forehead as she stood behind her, JJ played with Emily's hair while she finished the file she was typing up.
"Home time?" Emily asked when she turned around to kiss JJ.
"Almost Em. Do you need help with anything?" Emily gestured to the many files on her desk and the paperwork covering it. JJ grabbed a few things to help Emily out so they could leave a little earlier tonight.
"I love you, you know that right Jay?" JJ nodded and Emily smiled.
"Yeah. I do. I love you too". JJ rested her chin on Emily's shoulder and wrapped her arms around her wife.
Before they knew it, most of the paperwork that was on Emily's desk had been cleared and it was time to go home. JJ kissed Emily's forehead a few times while the brunette logged out of the system and turned off the computer.
When they got home, they changed into more comfortable clothes and climbed into bed with Emily holding JJ against her chest. It was nice to just hold her wife who'd been amazing and super supportive all day.
