The rays of sunlight shining through the window stings a man's closed eyes. He opened them slowly and immediately shut it when the light filled his eyes. He rubbed it to reduce the pain, turning his body to the left—facing the darker side—as he reached for his cell phone next to the pillow.
7:09 AM
Lee Taeyong, read it.
He closed his eyes again for a few minutes before he stretched his stiff muscles with a loud groan. Then he stood up, letting out a long sigh.
The man entered the kitchen and was about to prepare his breakfast, but he changed his mind. His tongue suddenly craved for the taste of a fresh garlic bread. He put back the egg into the fridge and grabbed a bottle of milk and a box of cereal instead. After, Taeyong freshened himself and dressed up in a white shirt and loose beige pants, styling his hair slightly to look more neat. He gave himself a tiny smile as he nodded, expressing satisfaction with his appearance.
Unaware, he stared directly into his own eyes in the mirror and all of a sudden, he sensed something was amiss. With a frown, he himself wondered why he felt unpleasant. Did he have a bad dream? He just realized he did. He couldn't recall any of the scenarios, but he can feel the sadness from the unknown dream. His daydreams came to an end when a vision of blood appeared. He shakes his head to shrug the thoughts off, putting a smile to replace his sorrowful heart.
Taeyong rides a motorcycle to the flower shop. The male usually opened his shop at 9 in the morning but he decided to open it earlier. He wanted to stop by the nearest cafe to buy the garlic bread he craved for.
"Taeyong-hyung !"
The said male flinched as he parked the vehicle. He whirled and saw a teenage boy running towards him.
"Hey, Donghyuck. What's wrong?"
The boy stopped running and took a deep breath. "Hyung, can I skip for a day?" Donghyuck asked breathlessly.
"You want to take a day-off?" Donghyuck nodded in response. "Why? Did something happen?"
"I have assignments to do and the due dates are next week. I haven't done anything yet." Donghyuck whined.
Taeyong squinted his eyes playfully, "you're not lying aren't you? I don't really trust you."
"What? Of course not!"
"I'm joking. Take your time and finish your assignments. No need to rush." Taeyong patted Donghyuck's shoulder making the boy to sigh in relief.
"Thank you so much, hyung. I owe you a big time."
"It's not a big deal. You don't owe me anything, don't worry."
Taeyong waves his hands as he watches Donghyuck leaving his sight. He opened the locked door and set everything ready for the day. After, he decided to walk to the cafe that sells his favourite garlic bread since it's not too far away. As soon as he gets in, someone greets him happily.
"Morning, Taeyongie. The usual?" A female asked.
Taeyong shook his head as he rested his hand on the counter, "good morning. I want something else today."
The answer made the female pouted, "Oh come on now, you always ask for donuts. What happened to my sweet tooth, Taeyongie?"
The said male roll his eyes. "I will get bored if I eat the same thing, Boah-noona."
"But I already packed it for y-"
"Then that's noona's fault." Taeyong interrup and grins playfully. Boah's mouth hanged, and finally closed it after huffing a sigh.
