"croissants, crackers, brie, cinnamon buns, macarons, basket, cutlery, picnic mat aaaand plates. i think that's everything! robin you better be ready, we have to leave soon, the walk alone takes 30 minutes!"

may had planned this picnic for over a week, she had made all the desserts herself and had explored the forest to find the ideal place to have the perfect picnic.

"hey, can i bring some tarot cards and some incense?!" yelled robin from the other side of the cottage, still trying to put his shorts on in a hurry. he had only gotten up 10 minutes ago and had the worse case of bed head.

"hurry up robinnn" may said as she looked at her watch, and becoming more impatient by the second. may was just about to yell at robin, but as soon as they opened their mouth he stormed out with long light brown shorts, a leather belt, and a baggy white shirt.

"your hair is a mess, robin!"

"meh, anyway how do i look?" said robin while adjusting his hair, trying to make it neat and a little decent

"you look great, grab the picnic mat and let's go!"

may was wearing a light yellow shirt paired with a dark blue spaghetti strap dress and black boots. they were carrying the basket in both hands and struggling with all the weight. robin knew that may struggled with carrying heavy stuff.

"may do you want me to carry the basket?" robin offered with a smile

"no,, i can do it! can you get the door though?"

"sigh, sure" robin opened the door and let may walk through first, walked through himself and closed the door, locking it behind him.

"where to may?" even though may had been planning this trip for a while, robin had no idea where they were going. robin was excited a little nervous too.

they both walked past may's garden, past april and adrien's house and through the park. may stopped at the forest and looked ahead.

"is this where we are going to have our picnic?" robin asked with a confused look

"nope! we aren't even close. follow me!"

"o,,okay?" robin was confused but was happy to go on an adventure with his friend.

they both walked through the woods, passing trees, spiderwebs and thick shrubs. it was so peaceful and quiet, nobody else was here, except for the pair.

"i didn't know we lived so close to such a beautiful place, i knew we lived close to a forest but this is so cool!" robin loved collecting bones and exploring the forest, he was glad may had brought him here

"almost there, robin!"

may made turns that looked erratic but she knew exactly where she was going. they then stopped at a meadow next to a lake. it was like a hidden paradise.

"may this is divine!" robin in wonder dropped the picnic mat on the grass "how did you find this place?"

"i went for a walk the other day and just came across it randomly, pretty neat, huh?"

"yeah!" robin said with a sparkle in his eyes

robin unfolded the picnic mat and laid it down on a nice patch of grass overlooking the lake. may took out the cutlery, the plates, the cheese and the crackers and placed them carefully on the mat.

robin took out the incense and the holder from the basket and took a lighter out of his pocket.

flick flick

success!

the incense was lavender, may's favorite. they both loved the smell of incense and it was something that they bonded over. they sat for a minute, then robin picked up the cheese knife, cut himself a piece of brie and put it on a cracker and ate it.

"cut me a piece, please" may asked nicely

after a muffled "fine" robin cut a piece of cheese for may and placed it onto the cracker.

10 minutes later they had finished all the cheese and robin suggested he do may's tarot, to which they replied with an excited "yes!"

for past may picked the magician

robin read the card "When the Magician appears in a spread, it points to the talents, capabilities and resources at the querent's disposal to succeed. The message is to tap into one's full potential rather than holding back, especially when there is a need to transform something."

for present may picked the page of wands from the middle

"the Page of Wands represents good news that should be coming to you swiftly or shortly. As a person, the Page of Wands represents a young person, child or person who is young at heart, who is fresh, cheerful, playful, active, optimistic and full of energy." robin said with a smile

for future may picked the fool

"oh! The Fool represents new beginnings, having faith in the future, being inexperienced, not knowing what to expect, having beginner's luck, improvisation and believing in the universe! don't worry about it sounding bad."

"do you think that was a good reading?" may asked politely

"it really did reflect who you are, may"

"thank you! want a cinnamon bun?"

"yeah, i do. when did you make these?" robin asked, he hadn't seen may make cinnamon buns in the week she was preparing for today. he had been there while making the croissants and the macarons because he helped may make them, but this was a mystery he had to solve.

"i made them this morning actually, i think at 7 o'clock"

"you were up that early? did you plan to make them?"

"nah, i just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so i decided why not bake. plus, i've wanted to make cinnamon buns for a while now"

robin took a bite and realized how lucky he was to be may's friend and roommate, even when they were kids may would always baked for robin. it was how they met and robin was so glad they had stayed friends after all this time.

without thinking robin hugged may and said "thank you for being my friend" under his breath, with which may replied "thank you for being my friend"

after that, may took out the croissants and asked if robin wanted one

"yes please, it was so fun helping you make these little babies, i love how we had to cut them into triangles then roll em into a nice blanket"

"I'm glad you paid attention while i was showing you how to roll them. all the recipes said you needed to have a good technique, and yours was quite good for a beginner"

they ate the croissants and moved onto the macarons, may had made two of each 4 flavors: vanilla, mint, mocha and caramel. may would of had 3 of each flavor if robin didn't snack on them during the week.

may split the macarons between the duo, and they immediately started eating them.

"hey these are pretty good, could you make a coffee one? i think it would taste super good" robin liked tea more than coffee but still thought it was a good idea.

"yeah, I'll try that next!"

after eating everything may stood up and walked over to the lake

"see you next time lake, thank you for leading me here!"

"oh are we heading off?" robin said

"i'm a bit tired from this morning, I'll fold the mat. you robin, will carry the basket"

they packed up, walked home and they both decided that was the best picnic ever.
