(𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙬𝙤)"hey, robin, can you pass me the yellow buttercream bag?" may said as she moved the cupcakes on her favorite plate.
the cupcakes had little white petals on the top and may only needed to finish the yellow middle part. she had made a basic vanilla cupcake recipe and added a little bit of lemon zest to the mixture to add a little kick.
may's kitchen was like something straight out of a modern house magazine, with the bench made of marble with wooden chairs, a metal sink with a white dishwasher under it, an oven and a microwave in the wall next to a brown cupboard, a nice cozy stove with 8 heating pads and a large fridge and freezer. the weird thing about the kitchen was how different it was from the other parts of the house, the aesthetic was more cottagecore and not "modern home".
may would usually cook and bake for robin so the kitchen was always in use but somehow it was always tidy and clean.
'almost finished! finally! after waiting so long for the petals to harden!' may thought as robin passed the icing she requested. May had always loved baking and she especially loved using a piping bag.
robin was sitting across from may, staring into his phone and only somewhat listening to what his best friend was saying
"1, 2, 3, 4-" may looked up from counting her desserts and looked directly at robin
"did you eat one, robin?" they asked
robins's suddenly ears jolted up
"n,,no of course not!"
you could tell he had eaten a cupcake because of the crumbs and white icing around his mouth and that no innocent person would be so surprised when questioned.
"next time, wipe off your face, you never dispose of the evidence! but seriously no more, these are for the neighbors that just moved in, not you! now, let me finish these before you eat them all"
May continued to ice the other 11 cupcakes and had to slap away robin's paws 15 times before he gave up with a sigh of defeat.
"well, may they are good by the way. very fluffy and the zest is just enough to make them lemony without being sour. 9.5/10"
"that's good to hear! i was going to ask you how they tasted..."
may seemed a little disheartened and robin knew something was up.
"may, i'm sure our neighbors are gonna like it! everyone loves your baking, i mean, who wouldn't love sweet things?"
may's face began to light up with excitement and let out a sort of happy gasp.
"thanks, robin, you always know what to say"
after the reassurance, may began icing the rest of the cupcakes one by one while sticking their tongue out in a focused stare.
"done!" may announced with excitement while removing her white lace apron they had made herself.
robin in celebration looked up from his phone and looked at May's finished product in awe.
"dude these look so good! could i at least have one more because 11 is an odd number?"
"how about we halve it?" May suggested with a grin
"really? heck yeah! i'll grab a knife and an extra plate"
robin rushed over to the cupboard and brought out a pink polka-dotted plate, rushed back to the bench and gently settled the cupcake on the plate. robin raised the knife and cut the cupcake cleanly in half. they both put the treat in their mouths and May instantly knew for sure her neighbors were gonna love her creation.
