Y/n's Pov

"Come on, we're not that far!" Kate exclaimed as she pulled me by my hand.

We run down a steep hill. Kate said where we were going was the prettiest place in Shadyside.

We reach a flower field. Kate was right, this is the prettiest place in Shadyside. Kate let's go of my hand and places the picnic basket on the grass.

She twirls around, throwing her hands in the air, "see! I told you this was the prettiest place in Shadyside!" Her gorgeous smile appears on her face. I giggle at the girl.

She runs back over to the picnic basket, grabbing the blanket she brought for us to sit on. I help her lay it on the grass and I quickly lay on it. She giggles at my action. She falls to her knees and holds my face with one of her hands.

She places a gentle kiss on my lips. She grabs the picnic basket and places it on the blanket we're on.

She grabs out fruits, crackers, cheeses, cookies, honestly most of my favorite snacks. She also grabs out my favorite book.

She sits on the blanket, patting her lap, signaling me to lay on it. I crawl over too her and I gently lay my head on her lap.

Kate's Pov

I play with my lover's soft y/h/c hair as I pick up their favorite book. She loves it when I read to her. I've noticed it calms them down.

I go to the page we stopped at last as begin reading it.

"Billy! Charlie called as soon
as he got out of the car.

I turned towards the house,
beckoning to Jacob as I ducked
Under the pourch. I heard
Charlie greeting them loudly
Behind me.

I'm going to pretend I didn't
see you behind the wheel,
Jake, he said disapprovingly.

We get permits early on the rez,
Jacob said while I unlocked
the door and flicked on the porch
light.

Sure you do, Charlie laughed.

I have to get around somehow. I
recognized Billy's resonant voice
easily, despite the years. The sound of
It made me feel suddenly younger, a child."

I continued reading the book as Y/n eats the snacks i brought for us. I wanted today to be a date to remember.

I want the best for my pretty girl.

They grabbed a few pieces of fruit and fed them to me. She looked so cute as she did that, I smiled softly at them.

I continued reading the book, stroking her hair softly. She interpreted me while read.

"I love you Katie."

"I love you too princess."
