"don't let it get in your head bro. three of them and two of us. that's typical Kook shit right there." JJ explained to Pope after last nights recent events.
"hell, yeah." Kiara said.
"what was your thought process, using your head?" JJ asked.
"i don't know, man. i just kind of acted off instinct. i was a cornered animal." Pope said while Belle handed him a receipt.
"i'm just glad you're okay, Topper went crazy." she told him going back to JJ.
"hey, Pope. someone here to see you." Heyward came in with Shoupe behind him the four froze knowing something bad was about to go down.
"evening officer." Pope greeted the man.
"i have an arrest warrant for felony destruction of property. hands where i can see 'em. young lady, out of my way." Pope turned to JJ, his eyes widening at how scared he was.
"Shoupe, wait." Belle stepped up.
"woah, Shoupe, what'd he do?" Heyward held his hand out to Belle so he can handle this.
"look at the warrant."
"you're arresting him?" Kiara spat at the officer.
"you're just arresting my boy? Shoupe, are you listening?" Heyward asked.
"Shoupe! wait, you can't arrest him he did nothing wrong!" Belle told the man as he started to drag Pope out of the store who was frozen in shock.
at this point, JJ, Belle and Kiara were arguing with Shoupe to let go of their best friend as Heyward tried to get an official explanation from the officer who wasn't listening. everything felt slow, JJ tried to get Pope but both Shoupe and Heyward pushed him away and Kiara continued to argue with the officer, Belle yelled at Shoupe trying to get his attention when someone she wasn't expecting to yell started to take the fall.
"it wasn't him! it was me." JJ yelled approaching them all.
"JJ-"
"he tried to talk me out of it, but i was mad because he'd just been beaten up. i was so sick of those assholes from Figure Eight that i lost my shit. i cant let you take the blame for somethin' i did." Belle's eyes watered watching JJ take the fall, when his father found out he was gonna go insane and Belle wasn't ready for JJ to go back home.
