Third Person's POV

The next episode was aired on October 24, 2017. The first mission was revealed; the nine members of the Coed Project Team are challenged to compose their own song, as well as perform it, to determine if they can debut altogether without eliminations. At the JYPE Training Center, the group selects the track they will use for the mission evaluation and starts practicing. On the day of the evaluation, the group announces their song titled "Hellevator." After the performance, Park Jean Young praises the song's lyrics, arrangement, and melody, but mentions that the key is too high for male singers, so the vocal parts only suited Mirae. He also notes that there are members who did not meet Park's standards and expectations, which leads to an elimination round.

Mirae's POV

We're at the training center inside our practice room to prepare for our first mission.

"Like JYP PD nim said we need to choose for the performance, So I've made few tracks. You guys should take a listen" he said and then proceeded to play songs from his laptop.

Most of the tracks that he played sounded pretty dark and scary with rough melodies either with rock or electronica influence. They were awesome but I want something that is both dark and sentimental.

So I spoke up, "Dark vibes are cool and all, but how about something more sentimental?"

"Tsk, she has a problem with everything" hyunjin scoffed in a low voice.

Istg dis bitch

"Uh, You know what? How about something that's both dark and sentimental?" Jisung added

"Do have anything dark and sentimental?" he asked chan

"uhhh sentimental?" chan sounded unsure

"Something where the melody is a little softer yet dark and intriguing." I added

"ahhhh lemme see."

after searching and thinking for some time he spoke up suddenly.

"OH! there's one, there's one, just a second."

"There you go, how's this?" he played the track.

I'm only 5 seconds into the track and I already like it. It has a really calm and beautiful beginning and then it gets dark and kinda sad. It's perfect.

But then the beat dropped. (like my grades in school)

And holy shit, Everybody is awestruck. I bet this part gonna get stuck inside my brain and be playing on loop for the next 6 months.

"This is a bop" I said

"I love it" Jisung said

"Yup this one is best of all 5 tracks", Felix added

"I liked the first one more but this good too" hyunjin added

"Compared to the first track, I think this one is much better " changbin said to hyunjin, to which hyunjin just nodded in response and gave a fake-ass smile cause everybody liked this track more than the first one.

"Ok, So this is it?" chan asked

"Yup" we all replied and settled for the last track as our final one.

"k then,I'll rearrange it and get back you all." he announced.

"lets go" he said to jisung and changbin. the cameramen stopped recording and went behind them.

-Time skip💃💃💃-

After 3 Racha finished the rearranging of the track, it was time for the line distribution.

Everybody gave a listen to the final track again which was named Hellevator.

It was Changbin's genius idea to combine the words 'Hell' and 'Elevator' to form the title track name. According to him, all the training is a process of shedding bloody sweat and bloody tears, and if we consider it as hell. Then going towards our dream of debuting and becoming an idol, can be considered as coming up from hell. And the  Hellevator is thing helping us from coming up from hell because it's basically a step towards our dream of debuting.

Damn, everything from the meaning to the lyrics, to the song itself was just perfect.

After giving a listen to the track, we were given the freedom to choose whichever part we wanted to have.

"The intro" seungmin shyly said,

"the intro? hmm" chan said and thought about it

"I think, it'll suit him" I added and chan nodded in agreement.

He looked toward our dolphin innie for his opinion.

"The hook part is awesome but it's too high for me, I think it'll either Jisung hyung or Mirae noona could be able to slay it." he said, looking a bit sad cause he couldn't get the cool part.

So chan looked towards me and then at jisung.

"I think noona should take that part cause it'll be kinda burdening and harder for me to hit that note than her." he said and look towards me. I just mouthed ok.

So line distribution was done. I've got the hardest part aka the hook. Also, we've decided to layer my voice with other members during the chorus cause that's also high in pitch.
