Gabriel pov

The trip back was silent, no one spoke and no one made a move to speak. Danny and Lee were infront of me the entire way back and along the way I was grabbing wooden sticks, metal casings  and other things as we walked by them. I kinda wish I had a back pack to keep all these things but my body will do for now.

We walked up the driveway toward the farm house in silence, Danny and Lee finally decided to speak after a mile of walking. "Hey that was a hell of a ride huh?"

Lee shook his head, "Geese Danny." Lee threw the gun he was holding and Danny caught it. Danny raised an eyebrow and shrugged his shoulders.

"What? Don't tell me you're getting soft on em, not after what they did to your friend." I gave Danny a sideways glare. I didn't expect manipulation from farmers but it's the apocalypse so expect the unexpected.

Brenda got up from the porch and looked down at us. "Danny, what happened?"

He looked up at her and answered in a monotoned voice. "Handled it mama." He then walked away toward a chair that was near the swing and sat down in it, he started looking over both guns. I decided to walk away as well toward the barn. As I turned to walk away however I could see Kenny and Lilly arguing.

"We'll then screw it up for everyone else why don't you!!" I shook my head and continued forward while the two walked away from each other. I watched as Kenny went back toward the barn while Lilly walked toward the arch. I decided that I'll go after Lilly.

I walked up the small hill and toward Lilly and Larry who were both resting near the Arch, Lilly was standing and Larry was sitting. Once Lilly spotted Gabriel she sighed and smiled.

"Oh hey, what happened? Did you find any of the guys who hurt mark?" She asked softly. I shook my head and leaned against the same post she was up against, I put my head in my hands and sighed.

"Yeah but there was this woman in the woods, she had a crossbow and she was talking all crazy like. Danny killed her." Lilly gasped and put her hand to her mouth. Larry huffed.

"Oh shit, was she with the bandits?" I shook my head.

"No I don't think so, she seemed to crazy to be with them. She also talked about with with words like "they and them." Seemed like they took something from her." I left out the part of the hat and her threading to "hang our balls" from a tree. I didn't see a pound in adding that.

"Sounds like she had it coming then." Larry quipped from the side which I didn't respond to.

"Other than that nothing else happened." I shrugged and looked to the side with a dissatisfied expression. I looked back at Lilly and raised my eyebrow. "What we're you and Kenny arguing about?" Lilly, who was looking down at her hands, let out a groan and shook her head.

"He was going off about how there was something in the barn and that they were hiding something. He's losing it Gabriel." She said with an exasperated sigh. I chuckled and smirked at her with a toothy grin.

"Lilly you must know by now that back woods people and rednecks never get along, one has guns and the other guns and beer." She looked up from her hands and stared at me with a tired look on her eyes, yet I could still see the amusement. I heard Larry start laughing behind me.

"That's a really good one." He chuckled again but my attention didn't stay on his as I looked at Lilly. She gave me an amused smile and shook her head, her hair was falling on her shoulders and her hands folding over the side of the railing. Her eyes stared into mine and I couldn't help but think of how beautiful she looked, for a human anyway. "You told him to mind his damn business right? We are guests here and we don't need to overstay our welcome." Lilly finally looked away from me regrettably, and looked over at her father who she nodded toward.
