Chapter 3

I got home pretty late and was welcomed with an angry mother. "Imani Angel Daniels!!! Where the hell have you been!!??" I flinched at the tone of her voice. "Don't think you're too old to get a whooping! You have a daughter and you just left all day?!" I swallowed. Hard
Becoming offended,I angrily spat "do you where I have been all day?? Trying to find a job to me and MY daughter! Yes I know I have a daughter,she's all I've been thinking about all day" almost coming to tears thinking about my near death experience
"I got lost and tried calling you to come pick me up but my phone died and had to use fund my way back home" omitting what I saw today in that alleyway
I didn't lieeeee,I just didn't say the complete truth. Big difference.
Her face softened while she stretched her arms out
"Come here baby" I obediently came into her arms and hugged her for a good 10 minutes just enjoying my mother's hug
"You know you can come work for your dad and I at the boutique"
I quickly shook my head, "I want to find a job on my own"
She sighed but agreed
"Where's my baby" I groggily asked my mom
"Sleeping,she's been cranky all day because she didn't see her mommy" she explained
I suddenly felt bad for my baby and left my mother's hold to my bedroom where I saw lulu sleeping with her mouth open and her butt in the air. Adorable.
I took a shower and  went to the kitchen to get some water before going to bed. Going to the kitchen,I didn't see my mom.I shrugged figuring she left
I went back to the room,prayed for my baby and I before kissing her forehead goodnight and going to bed
My last thoughts were on how I was going to get a job. Well that's a problem for tomorrow...before I welcomed sleep

The Next Morning
I woke up to the sound of my 7:00am alarm,I got up to see my baby still snoring. Although I made her lay down properly yesterday night,she still stuck her butt in the air. Shaking my head and getting up from the bed,I decided to brush my teeth before waking lulu up
"Hey sweetie" I lightly shook her,she didn't even move
I sighed knowing she was a heavy sleeper like her father,I knew what to do
I turned on the tv and put it on 'doc mcstuffins' which she slowly started to wake up to. I smiled in victory when she was totally awake
I turnt on the tv and carried her to the bathroom to get her ready
"Time to make you look pretty baby" she just weakly smiled at me
I didn't take note of it because I figured she was still tired cause she was just waking up
I started being skeptical when she didn't play with the bubbles when I put her in her tub to bath her,she just sat there not being her energetic self
I quickly got her ready,fed her,although she didn't eat much and took her to the nearby hospital
I went in and asked for a doctor,I was told to sit and wait,I waited for long time and then I noticed that the woman I came with had already left and I was waiting to be attended to
"Excuse me" I went to the receptionist with lulu
"I've been waiting here for awhile just for a checkup and haven't been answered
She looked me up and down with a disgusted look and said "wait your turn"
I was getting annoyed now,"I have been waiting!"
"Would you please keep it down,I know you're from the hood but please..."
I blinked at her not believing what she said. THE HOOD??!!
"Oh hell nahh snowflake,now here's what we're gonna do,you're gonna go in there" I pointed at her back "and you're going to bring a doctor to check up on MY daughter because I don't have all day and have to go back to the 'hood'" I seethed out,my patience wearing off
"O-okay ma'am" she stuttered out
"T-then go do it" I mimicked her,my hand on my hip
She rushed out from her desk to calls doctor while a blew a sigh I didn't know I was holding
How dare she?! The hood?!
A doctor came out flashing me an apologetic smile while I just waved him off
"Miss Daniels,this way please" he directed me
As I was going,I made sure to throw daggers at snowflake

Well turns out,lulu just had a flu,doctor gave me drugs and told me to feed her properly which ended up with me getting offended as to why he said I should 'feed her properly' and almost costing him his job cause I was making a scene

Going back home,I forced lulu to eat and take her syrup which she made a cute 'yuck' face to. While washing the dishes, I got a call from an unknown number

"Hello is this Imani Daniels" an older lady asked
"Yes this is she" I answered almost cutting the phone
"This is Margaret,the owner of 'sip and dip cafe', you had your interview here a couple days ago?"
"Yes,how can I forget" I remembered I really wanted to work there cause the pay was just enough for me and lulu
"Well you got the job imani,one of of staff just quit,so we're short on staff"
"Ohmygosh thank-wait hold on,lulu drop the gummies,you can't have those" I took them from her and continued the call
"Sorry for that,thank you so so so much for this job,I really appreciate"
She just chuckled,I can tell she's very nice
"No problem dear,work starts on Monday.8:00am sharp"
And she cut the call
"Mama just got a job" I shouted to lulu who just looked at me like a crazy person
"Infact you can have one gummy"
I gave her a gummy and she squealed in joy hitting her hands on her high chair
I was ecstatic!! The rest of the day I spent preparing for Monday
Night time reached and we did our routine. I slept with a smile on my face knowing things were finally turning out better for me and my baby
