22 • Ice Cream for Drama!

Riker kissed my cheek just as all of us entered the huge ice cream shop that looked like it was 2 stories high. We all walked to the cashier and by all I mean I mean Rocky, Bethany, Ross, Ryland, Ratliff, Rylie, Riker and I. They were hanging out with us at our house and then Bethany wanted ice cream but we were all out so we decided to go get some from the ice cream shop close to our house

The lady, Lesley, looked up from the cash register and smiled widely. "Well look who it is! The big eight group!" She perked, placing a hand on her hip and walking over to the counter to greet us. "I haven't seen any of you since the last day you all were here! When did you get back?" She asked us "Actually," Riker answered "We all got here like two days ago!" Lesley placed a hand over her heart, acting hurt. "And you didn't come to say hello? After all those times Jacob and I gave you freebie ice cream!" With her last sentence, she looked at Rylie who was just on Ross's hip. "I told them to come and say hi, but they were too bust planning out Uncle Rocky and Bow's wedding!"

Lesley's eyes widened, "Bethany! Your getting married to Rocky? Oh, I just knew this day was going to come sooner or later!" Lesley chirped. She grabbed a string that was attached to the wall and looked like a light switch. She quickly pulled it with a huge smile on her face, bright colored confetti falling down from the ceiling. Bethany jumped and so did the rest of us but Rylie just stood there with a huge smile, trying to get as much as possible in her tiny little hands

"Yeah, me and Rocky are getting married." Bethany has never really like Lesley since she always tries to get everybody to like her. But that wasn't working on her. "Well, congratulations! Am I invited to the wedding?" Bethany bit her lip, "We haven't decided who's coming and who's not coming. Were working on the trying to make the setting perfect, you know." I could hear Riker let out a low chuckle as he smiled at me

I gave him an arm kick on his side rib, and he let out a groan as he removed his arm from my neck to his rib. I rolled my eyes at him, "Oh, well if you want I can help you organize! Did you know that my brother is a wedding planner and our uncle is a pri-?!" Bethany cut her off, "Can we get to the ice cream now?" She was clearly not enjoying this side talk with Lesley. "Oh, s-sure." Lesley stammered then looked at Rylie. "What would you like today kid?" She asked her. "Hmm, Daddy can I get a double scoop?" She turned to Riker who was still holding his side rib in pain

"Sure, princess." He nodded. "I'll get the original!" Rylie chirped, giving her a fake smile. Rylie doesn't like Lesley either, great. I clutched onto Riker's hand, making him look at me just as I turned away to not face him. His grip tightened on my waist and he stepped towards me, putting two fingers under my chin and making me look at him. "What's wrong?" He asked, just as Rylie was handed her ice cream. "Rylie doesn't like Lesley either!" I snapped, motioning to her. He sighed, "It's fine. She'll get over it sooner or later!" I nodded, leaning my head on his shoulder.

Once we had gotten our ice cream, we all decided to sit by the beach and just talk. "Bethany?" Rylie spoke, looking up from her legs that were resting on the warm sand. "Yeah, Riles?" She asked, turning her head to face Rylie "Will you forget me when you get married to Uncle Rocky?" She questioned silently. "Of course not. You may be Riker and Rydel's daughter but we'll still be like sisters!" Bethany exclaimed. "And best friends?" Rylie smile. Beth giggled,"And best friends, I promise you." Rylie's smile grew bigger. "Yay."

Hi guys its madie here. Just wanted to let you all know that this will be the last chapter of 1 Year Later. Sadly, there will be no sequel. The next part will be the epilogue/ Rocky and Beth's wedding. I'm really sorry guys, it's been really hard to maintain this story updated so I decided to do this for the best of updating more The Runaways. And I'm working on a new story of rikdel called Love Struck maybe when this book is over I'll post the Prologue and first chapter since I already finished it. Sorry guys, I just had to do this
