Despite the fact our flight didn't leave until one, Wes insisted on staying at my place Saturday night. I thought it was silly, considering we had plenty of time on Sunday, but I wasn't going to argue with him. Another night of vampires and snuggles? Especially before dealing with the almost certain hell of with my family? Sign me up.
I awoke Sunday morning, nestled beneath my down comforter. I wasn't sure what time it was, but I knew my alarm hadn't gone off yet, so I shifted around, trying to settle back to sleep, but instead I heard Wes groan.
"Keep wiggling your ass on me like that, and we're gonna have a problem," he mumbled sleepily. His voice was deeper, more raspy than usual, and it made goosebumps erupt all over my skin.
The sexual tension between us was like a ticking time bomb and we were both more than aware of it. Despite our insane attraction, our relationship hadn't gone past the awkward, teenage making out and dry humping stage. Wes was an incredibly sexual being and me... well, I was inexperienced in comparison. I wasn't a virgin by any means, but up against a guy like Wes, I may as well have been. I wanted to sleep with him, don't get me wrong, but I was scared. What if I didn't live up to what he was used to? I saw Lucy. Woman was basically a real-life porn-star on looks alone. There was no way I was going to be able to compete with that.
I just giggled and sighed at his declaration and sank further into his embrace. Without thinking, I fidgeted against him again, and I was suddenly acutely aware of his hardened rod pressing into my ass. Fuck. How was that even going to fit?
"Goddammit, woman," Wes groaned, his arm tightening around my waist. "Are you trying to make me snap?"
"Sorry..." I mumbled softly. I then moved to shift away, but his hold on me only tightened.
"Hey. Where you going?"
"I just... I mean..." I couldn't get my words together and I could feel my heart ramming against my ribcage.
He pushed himself up, leaning over me on his elbow, his sleepy blue eyes almost appearing gray in the morning light. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing..."
"Mia," he almost scolded. He leaned in a bit more and pressed his lips onto my jaw, directly below my ear. "Why are you scared of me?"
"I'm not!" I winced as my voice pitched higher. Convincing, Mia. Real convincing.
"You are," Wes argued with a low chuckled, his breath still tickling my ear. "Every time things get more heated than kissing, you retreat at full speed. I'm starting to think maybe you don't like me all that much."
"Shut up," I groaned, turning my face into the pillow, trying my best to hide the burning red that had taken over my face. "You know that's not true."
"What's going on then? Women don't usually jump away repulsed when it comes to my dick." He was still chuckling, but I wasn't. As he realized I wasn't laughing, his faded. "Baby, talk to me. Please."
"I'm just... worried."
"About what?"
"That I won't be... good..."
"What?"
"That I won't be good enough. I've seen the girls you take home, Wes. I'm not them. I'm not anywhere near them. I didn't even lose my virginity until I was twenty-four and between that and Marcus there was maybe... three other people. Compared to you, I'm like... nothing..."
"Okay, first of all," Wes began as I felt him shift. Suddenly, he'd vaulted himself over my body and was laying in front of me, shifted down on the pillow so his eyes were gazing into mine with direct intensity. "I'm pretty sure you just called me a whore..."
