Dallas didn't know what to think when Edward arrived to pick his sister up to meet the parents. He leaned against the door seeing as Zaylee was still out cold. Edward saw his mate asleep and smiled. "I see she's still asleep."

"If you want, you can hang here." Dallas says. "I need to go to the store."

Edward nodded as Dallas walked out. He waited till Dallas was gone before going over to Zaylee's bed and sitting down on the foot of the bed. "Zaylee." She groaned. "Are you going to wake up anytime soon?"

"Edward?" She says.

"Yes?"

"Why are you here early?" She asked.

"Because I thought we could spend the day, but I can let you sleep for awhile."

"You are the best." She says as she raised up and wrapped her arms around his neck. "How about you join me?"

Edward didn't refuse as he was pulled back by Zaylee. Once they were laying down, Zaylee put her head on Edward's chest as she went back to sleep. Edward smiled as he covered her up and pretended to be asleep.

Later that day, Zaylee and Edward arrived at the Cullen house hold. "Wow." She said. "Pretty house."

"Esme would love to hear that."

Zaylee was nervous as she has never met the parents before. Edward grabbed her hand causing her to smile as she knew he was right there with her. "I'm sorry." She tells him. "I've never..."

"It's fine." He said. "I'm just glad that you are ready to meet them."

"Me too."

They walked in causing Esme to smile. "You must be Zaylee."

"Yes, ma'am." She said. "That smells delicious."

Edward watched Zaylee walk over and started helping Esme learn more about cooking. He was surprised by how smart this girl was. Rosalie glared making Edward causing Zaylee to look at him. "Edward, ignore her." She says. "There's a reason for her attitude and I'm just going to over look it and not cause her problems."

Edward nodded as Zaylee walked over to him. "How about I show you around..."

Alice and Jasper arrived causing the two to look at them. Edward sighed as he wasn't going to get some alone time with his mate.

Later on, Zaylee had her head on Edward's chest as they danced together. Carlisle stood with Esme as she watched the two with a smile. "She's brought him back."

"She's made him feel whole." Carlisle replies.

Edward smiled as he lead Zaylee upstairs causing Esme to shake her head. Carlisle, on the other hand, had a feeling that Zaylee and Edward had a very special bond. He knew he would have to see what that bond can be. Hearing laughing caused them to laugh. "He knows what it's like to have a mate." Esme said. "I'm happy for him."

"I think we all are."

"Besides Rosalie."

"Rosalie has her reasons and when the time comes, she will eventually treat Zaylee better. Right now, Zaylee is not forcing anything on us." Carlisle says. "Let's be glad that Edward finally has someone to love, but I don't know when she will be turned."

Edward heard his family talking about Zaylee turning and he was hoping that conversation wouldn't come up this early in their relationship. For him, this moment was all he wanted. Zaylee laughing as they spent time together. Zaylee is the love of my life.

That night, Zaylee sat reading her book when Edward appeared. "Hi." She said as he sat down. "What's wrong?"

"I have something to say."

"Okay."

"I'm in love with you, Zaylee."

"I'm in love with you, Edward."

Edward smiled as he leaned in and kissed her. Hearing talking had Edward looking at her. "Bella, I don't think Zaylee is awake. She's had a long day."

"I know, but I was hoping she had her notes for one of our classes."

"How about you borrow mine?"

"Sure."

Zaylee rolled her eyes as she turned the light off. Edward watched as she walked to the window to look at the night sky causing Edward to stand behind her with his arms around her. This is what it's like to be in love and have a mate. I'm glad I finally have her in my arms. Zaylee Gilbert is my other half.
