Just Friends *Earth to Echo: Alex*

Chapter 4

We were about three quarters away from the next piece and we were already tired of riding all the time. Close by I saw a convenient store and it had a whole lot of cars.

"Guys, we are going to have to steal a car or it's going to be dark by the time we get to the next piece." They all looked at me like I was crazy.

"You've got to be joking!" Emma says. I give them a I'm serious look.

"Now, we want the perfect car." I say looking at all the cars at convenient store. "Looks like someone rich is traveling through the desert. Here someone take my bag."

Tuck grabbed my bag and I pulled out a dagger. I walked to the 2011 dodge charger and opened the unlocked door. I hot wired it and jumped in. The others ran into the car and just as we were pulling out the owner started coming out. I drove off and he was super pissed.

"You know we can go to jail for stealing a car?" Munch says.

"Only if we get caught, Munch. I say we drive for a couple of miles we'll stop by another car and we switch license plates."

"You just want to go to jail don't you?"

"No, I just want to live my life to the fullest. To be on the edge of the cliff at all possible moments."

We rode in silence after that. I did pull over and switch license plates with a car. I mean I had to. We listened to the radio the whole time we hardly spoked the entire ride. Everytime I looked out the corner of my eye I saw Alex staring at me. It was really uncomfortable.

"It should be right around the corner, Aurora." Alex says. Just like he said the place was right around the corner. It was an old barn that looked like it would collapse at any moment.

I stopped the car. I had a bad feeling in my stomach, for extra measures I grabbed the pistol and stowed it in my boot. We got out and looked around the barn no one was here except us. A rattling could be heard and the next piece came zooming around the barn like crazy, then connected to Oda.

"I think that's all. We should go and find the other pieces." I say. I hear a click and a small chuckle from a man.

"You ain't going nowhere, princess." I heard the man say. More clicks of guns could be heard and chuckles as well. We were all frozen in our spots. I pulled out the gun from my boot and loaded it.

I turn around like a bullet and shoot at the first guy I see. Emma, Tuck, Munch, and Alex have scattered and are hiding. Everyone is trying to shoot at me or the others and I'm the only one with a gun.

Great!

After I kill three more guys one of the last two guys shoot at me and it clips my shoulder. I wince in pain and shoot him down and finally the last one. I go up to each of the guys and take their guns and bullets.

"We need to leave like now. They're might be others on their way." I say, handing the guns and bullets to the others as they come out of hiding. We run to the car and zoom off. "Oh shit!"

Five cars are tailing us and shooting at us. A bullet hits the back window shattering it to pieces. I increase my speed and try to lose them. Two of the cars catch up to us and are driving on either side of our car.

"Alex, hand me my gun!" I say, he doesn't hesitate. I smash my window and start shooting while driving. "It'll be helpful if you grabbed some guns and started shooting!"

They all start shooting except for Munch who says, "I can't shoot a gun! Let alone kill someone!"

"Fine, take the steering wheel while I try to shoot these cars a bit better." He's skeptical, but takes the wheel anyway.

I shoot the guy in a driver seat, then blow out their back tire. I reload my gun and go for another car and another and another. Soon, we have all taken down the cars.

"I'll take that steering wheel back." I say, letting out a breath. Munch leans back into his chair. "We'll ride for about two hours or until we see a motel. We also need to go find a new car."
