Resurrected minds

To the moon, who heard my muffled hiccups,
the stars who saw my red eyes,
The wind brushed tears off my cheeks,
The mysterious night that witnessed my broken heart,
and the lover who tore me apart.

I write my heart down on paper for you to know
that you broke me pretty bad, but I believed that through those broken pieces someday I will glow!

Cried a year in my room,
hiding in my blanket, wiping my tears
had several breakdowns, got rid of your belongings
chopped my hair off, got a bit drunk,
Hooked up with some,
unloved everyone...
Wrote in my journal, cried in my sleep...
Got mad at your new girl,
couldn't believe that a year passed, and you didn't care, it seemed.

Disappeared for a long time,
apologized when I got back...
Built myself up,
Re structured my career goals,
took help from some podcasts...
Assembled me from dust and became the queen I thought I never could be.

Now walking through the hallway,
I see you holding her in your arms
While she is on her phone,
I wonder where did you lose your charm?
Does she not admire your warmth?

The people eye me with awe,
wonder when did I become so amazing?
I wore confidence like a denim shirt...
Comfortable and stylish!
You look at me from afar,
Your eyes plead guilt,
and your smile reflect pride,
You know you lost a gem,
and so did I...
None of us walked up to the other,
But both of us know...
I could never discover this gem I am if it weren't for you,

After a while,
we honoured our past,
greeted with respect and understanding...
Became better beings, without tearing each other apart,
Look, how beautifully our journey has come so far!

Humility and kindness,
I see in your eyes,
For the first time, they have no lies
I guess we both were too tired
To be unkind!
So we smiled in silence,
A serene vibe...
Where we appreciate our resurrected minds!
