Brian POV
It had been one hell of a week. I was able to focus more on work and the rest of my time I gave to Amy. I made sure that I met her everyday and made her feel loved, she was worth it. I had to digest the fact that I could not be jealous of Mia or her boyfriend anymore. It was hard to wrap my head around the fact that she would finally be with someone that would keep her happy . I had to move on just like Mia did, I did realize that my behavior that night was unfair to Mia. I didn't know what had come over me. Maybe my ego was wounded by the fact that it was so damn easy for Mia to walk away just like that .
I was sitting on my chair, staring at my laptop screen. I didn't feel like working , maybe because it was Friday, I might as well get some coffee or just get out of the office altogether, I thought to myself.
I was going through this random thoughts when my office door just opened. It was Mia, she looked different, stressed out to be precise. She closed the door and stood still staring at me, for a while there was just silence because I didn't know what to say. After that dinner night we hadnt seen each other , not even in the office. I would just avoid her.
This was awkward, just staring at each other.
"Do you have an hour or two to spare?" she said breaking the tension.
"Why what's the occasion" I replied rising from my chair.
"We need to be somewhere" she asked breathing heavily.
"Be where, was there a workshop or something today?" I asked looking up to my calendar.
"No Brian this is not work related, its something about us..its-" I interrupted her, before she could say more.
"What us Mia, I thought we are done, and past all this stuff right, and by the way I kinda like that guy you are dating now, world is full of surprises I guess huh" I kept blabbering.
"Okay look I kind of need your help here, can you do that for me please?" she asked nicely
"What Chris is not available so I am your go to guy or what shall I say second choice, is it Mia" I said out loud.
She stood quiet and I figured that she did not expect that I would say such stuff to her. I was feeling bad already.
"Im sorry Brian, I didn't mean to bother you, just forget I came here" she said in a low soft voice.
"Mia no please, im really sorry, I didn't mean to say that, I really want to help you and you said something to deal with us, I didn't quiet get it" I tried to amend the situation.
"Yeah about that, I am not able to deal with that quiet well myself, it will be more easier if we get there if that's okay with you, like most things you will make it out yourself" she added.
"Okay then lets go, wherever we have to be" I grinned.
" oh and by the way I am not interfering in your work right, like if you have something important to do then we can go afterwards" she asked.
"What no way, you just made my day I didn't feel like working anyway" I replied.
"Oh you will see how I made your day, just need little bit of patience" she mumbled.
The way she said that statement got me concerned but I ignored it thinking that she might have her other issues. We headed to my car and she told me that she will keep telling me directions and I was just supposed to drive. To be honest she was a really bad navigator we had circled around the streets and I had to take three u turns before we could finally make it to her destination. It was kind of fun though at least during that time, she giggled once or twice, otherwise something was bothering her.
