“WHAT DO YOU MEAN HER mother isn't Japanese?”
A loud voice boomed in the halls of the hospital, as an old man appeared in front of a young couple. The young man was a Japanese, while beside him was a tanned woman who seemed to be foreign.
"Son, I told you to marry no one but a Japanese woman! You are my only child, I want our family to be pure. I do not accept this granddaughter you speak of." The old man said, turning his attention away from the couple.
The young couple felt his words piercing their heart, but they knew they could never convince the cold heart of the old man. After all, he was an influential person and they were but his son and a woman he never even knew the existence of until that day.
"Father, I love Rosella," the young man said, his brows furrowing as he gazed at the woman beside him who was carrying their newborn daughter.
"You don't love her, Akihiro! You just love the idea of having a family. Leave her and the child at once, I will not accept a foreigner in my family," the old man said, walking away from the small family. "The only time I will let that child use the last name Fujisaki is when you leave that woman by your side. That child cannot handle the family business when she grows older, as well!"
As he walked away from their sight, Akihiro spilled a few tears as he took a look at his daughter and the mother of his child. Rosella gave him a smile, both knowing that they really had to bid each other farewell. First, because they both knew Akihiro loved his family more than he ever loved Rosella; Second, Rosella had to go back home and her family was very conservative— they won't expect her to have a child at the age of 20, especially since Akihiro and Rosella are not married nor engaged.
"I love you, Rosella. You and our child," he said, caressing the cheek of his newborn child.
"I love you, too, Akihiro. I really do. But what do we do?" Rosella replied, her eyes stinging with tears. "I have to go home to the Philippines and my parents cannot know I have a child."
"I will find a way."
years later
"YOUNG MISTRESS, PLEASE TAKE CARE," one of the butlers exclaimed, looking at the young girl with concern in his eyes.
Their young mistress, Fujisaki Mizuki, was only 6 years old and had a frail body. Everyone in the household took great care of her and were overprotective, since their master entrusted his daughter to them knowing that he cannot live with her because of his father and his strict ways.
As a child, Mizuki liked running around and climbing trees, which stressed out the butlers and maids in the huge house she lived in. The maids who were watching over her would often feel their heart beat hard against their chests— concerned about the young girl who was weak but liked running around so much.
