"Was that the famous Rebekah Mikaelson?" Sadie asked me
"Uh yeah?"
"Huh, I see why you have a thing for her."
"Had! And shut up." I playfully roll my eyes.
"Hey, I'm just saying. You did tell her to choose between you and her niece's friend."
"I wasn't in my right mind. Plus I knew she wasn't going to say me first.
"But she wanted to."
"But she didn't."
"But she wanted to!"
"But she didn't!"
"You're so stubborn!"
"I know. I get that a lot. But..."
"But what?"
"You called me mom. You haven't called me mom since our fight in New York about 10 years ago."
"I thought I was going to lose you."
"Mhmm."
"I'm serious. I really thought I was going to lose you."
"Oh you can't get rid of me that easily."
"Good."
"I love you, Sadie."
"I love you too, mom." I said as I hugged her.
"I never pegged you as a mother type." A familiar voice said.
I broke out hug and turned around to face Rebekah.
"I'll leave you two be. See you later."
I turned to Sadie
"Okay, bye Sadie. Be careful, love."
"I will."
I turned back to face Rebekah
"What do you want."
"You..."
"Bold, but no."
"Hey, you came to me first."
"I wasn't in my right mind."
"I don't believe that."
"Why don't you go with Marcel?"
"We aren't a thing anymore."
"Why's that?"
"I had someone better in mind." She said as she got closer to me.
"And who might that?"
"You, dummy.."
Our faces were inches apart.
"That's too bad cause I don't want you."
"Really? It sure doesn't seem like it. Come one, love. Just two days, me and you, I'll show you that I've changed."
"I think I'll pass." I said in almost a whisper.
"Are you sure, darling? I can be very persuasive when I want to."
"Can you please leave. I don't want this. I don't want anything to do with you anymore."
I could see that hurt on her face when I said that. She backed up.
"It's just that... you broke my heart, Rebekah. I loved you with everything and you caught feelings for Marcel. I wasn't good enough for you and that hurt. I don't want to feel like that again. I have an amazing daughter, I saw my mom, I'm getting back to my old self. The good me. And if I let you in and you hurt me, well, there goes everything I've worked so hard to get. You remember when we broke up?"
