The glass shards of a former mirror lay on the carpet of Mas's room.
"Bad luck, huh?" she asked the silence.
To Mas, her life was already riddled with bad luck, a few more years really won't change much.
"Well", Mas smiled at her broken mirror, "I'll buy another one, and who knows, maybe I'll break it too."
Mas realized from her fragmented reflection that her smile had turned into a sour expression. Bitter and spiteful, she didn't like what she saw, so she decided not to see it.
"Fuck you", she said, and proceeded to crush the shards with her bare feet.
As she bled, Mas declared to the silence:
"You have no power over me"
But Mas knew this was just another lie.
