When Steve had mentioned that a new team was joining the Avengers, Dove Blanchard didn't know what to think. It had been a while since one person had joined the team, much less four. And a group called The Fantastic Four at that? It was like some unimaginative high schooler trying their hand at creative writing had come up with that. But, they were supposed to be powerful, so she kept most of her quips to herself.

Though, she did make a point to whisper to Bucky some of her more mild jokes about how "if they were so fantastic, why do they need the avengers?" as they arrived at the Compound. Bucky only gave a chuckle, shaking his head, as he cuddled with her on the couch, saying that she needed to play nice with the newbies for a little while at least.

But, it seemed like fate was more in her hands, though, as the Fantastic Four eventually made their way to where she and Bucky sat.

"Hey!" Steve said, walking into the living room with the four heroes in tow. "New recruits are here."

Bucky gave a wave, while she looked them up and down, unimpressed.

To Dove and Bucky, Steve said, "Guys, this is Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Susan Storm, and Johnny Storm." To the group, he said, "This is Dove and Bucky." He eyed the one he introduced as Johnny. "Both of them are off limits, so no flirting."

"What, has he already hit on everything that walks?" she snarked, looking him up and down.

"C'mon, snow bird, we said we'd play nice," Bucky teased, pulling you onto his side.

Johnny ignored Bucky and the affection he was displaying towards her, instead opting to turn on his charm, a smirk curling across his face as he asked, "Why? You jealous? 'Cause I can promise ya that you're the only one I got eyes on."

"Johnny, cut it out," Susan hissed, sending him a glare, but Dove only raised her hand, signalling that she had a handle on things.

She quirked a brow, rising to her feet, stalking over to Johnny. He towered over her, but there was something in the way that she carried herself that made it seem like she was the one with all of the power. She looked up at him, snarling slightly at the way he still looked so cocky, and said, "Listen and listen well, I don't give a shit who you flirt with 'cause I got not just one but two perfect super soldiers who take damn good care of me. I don't think a little boy like you could even handle me."

Johnny licked his lips, still staring down at her with that big ole smirk. "Is that a challenge?"

But Bucky was on his feet now, moving in front of Dove, squaring his shoulders as he looked Johnny in the eyes. "Don't you fuckin' dare, kid, or I swear—"

"Now, Bucky baby, aren't we s'pposed to be playing nice?" Dove teased.

"Anyways," Steve cut in, "I'm 'bout to take 'em to the training room. Wanna come with and see what they're made of?"

"I'd rather see how she fucks—"

"And I really wanna smash his face in. Let's go, baby," Dove said, intertwining her fingers with Steve's as the group made their way down to the training room. "Anyways, it's nice to meet the rest of y'all, I guess."

"Y'know, I'm real happy you got to meet my sis today," Johnny was saying, "'cause family's real important if you're gonna be my—"

Susan stuck her foot out as she was passing him by, tripping him and making him stumble to the floor. She caught up to you, Steve, and Bucky, walking beside you as she said, "Sorry 'bout him. If you need any help getting him off your back, just give me a shout and I can handle it."

"Oh, don't worry about it. I can handle a little weasel on my own," Dove said. "But, it could be fun to have someone else make him a little miserable from time to time."

Susan laughed. "Well, you know I'll be here to help."

Finally, they reached the training room, Steve using his free hand to point to all of the designated areas that they can hone their skills in. The entire time, though, Johnny's eyes were perfectly trained on Dove. God, it made her just want to bash his skull in. She hadn't dealt with this kind of persistence in a long time, not since she started dating Bucky and Steve. Usually just one super soldier, let alone two, was enough to get the more insistent guys off her back. What was this guy's deal? Could he really just not take a fucking hint?

Dove only tuned back into the conversation as Steve was saying, "So, we should probably throw you guys into a few one-on-one sessions with our guys, just to see where your skill sets lie."

"I'm going against Johnny," she said.

Steve looked down at her. "You sure, snow?"

"It only makes sense," she reasoned. "He's fire, I'm ice."

"...Alright. You two can go first."

Johnny threw Dove a wink as they faced each other on the training mat, Steve and Bucky ushering the others to be as far away as possible. They knew all too well how dangerous Dove's powers could get, and they weren't about to find themselves frozen to the flloor again.

"You ready?" Johnny asked.

Dove said nothing, throwing a blast of cold air his way, sending him spiralling through the air. He landed rather unceremoniously, groaning as he hit the ground, before he was pushing himself back up, his hands catching fire as threw a ball of flames her way. But she easily caught it, freezing it mid-air before hurling it back with one hand, throwing her other hand downward to freeze the floor. Johnny slipped slightly before he cast more flames on his body, rising to the air, but Dove took it as an opportunity to freeze him with quick blasts of cold air, until he fell back to the floor. As he laid there, she shot more ice at him, pinning him down by his clothes.

"Stay down," she said, blasting him with another shard of ice.

"No can do," Johnny said, gaining enough strength to throw fire at the ice, melting it. "Would rather you be going down on—"

"ENOUGH!" Dove shouted, mustering up all of her strength to send a blast of cold air so strong that it extinguished his flames. While disoriented, she fired shard after shard after him, until he was pinned to the ground in a capsule of ice. She walked over, looking down at him. "When I tell you to do something, you listen. Got it?"

"Yes ma'am."

She nodded, before walking away. Over her shoulder, she called, "The ice'll melt soon. Have fun there, flame boy."

And, oh, what fun he was gonna have as soon as he was able to move again. A dopey grin stretched across his face, a loud sigh filling the room, his body temperature rising and melting the ice faster than anticipated. "She's gonna be my future wife," he said to no one in particular.

A growl filled the training room, and he heard the super soldiers coming before he saw them. He jumped to his feet, looking across the room to see Steve and Bucky running toward him, trainees and other agents dodging the enraged men. If he was smart, he would've felt a flicker of fear. But instead, he only saw the challenge.

Still, he ran. Even a fool knew they were out for blood.

And, who knows, maybe he would get to see his future wife along the way.
