Lili paces in front of the door in the hospital. Her face is stern as she fixes the way the black hat fits to her head and the facemask that hides half of her face, allowing only her eyes to be seen.

The doctor leaves the room a moment later with a chart and she welcomes the young attorney to the corner of the corridor where they both look around before deciding for a conversation to take place.

"Anything to update me with?"

"Awake" the doctor says, staring at the chart. "And all of her organs are functioning again. We just have to wait for her to get stronger and she's good to go"

"Fine" Lili mutters. "Oh, and she demands to see you"

"Very well, Suzy. Thank you so much for everything"

"Don't mention it, Lili. I still don't forget the way you helped me before"

The young attorney smiles before walking towards the room, making sure to lock the door before she turns her head to face her.

Lisa.

"So, how's the other Manoban?"

Lili asks, dragging the chair so that she can sit.

Her sister looks at her, wincing in pain before muttering I'm okay under her breath.

"You do know we read each other like a book right, Lisa?"

"Okay, I fucking feel like shit, Lili. Are you happy now?"

"Fair enough for me"

"How's the case going on?" Lisa questions, putting enough pressure to the bandage around her torso where holes from the incident a month ago mostly are.

"For starters, they closed your case"

Lili mumbles casually, like it means nothing to her. Lisa frowns deeper as she studies her little sister.

"You are kidding me"

"I am not"

"Under what reason?"

"Unknown death" Lili mutters, this time around she faces her sister, her eyes are rigid. "And that's enough to make me question everything, Lisa"

"What's the theory?"

"I think they have someone inside the police department, someone who's been helping them to get away with every shit they did"

"Whoever that person is" Lisa sighs in pain. Her bandage, once clean is now stained with blood. "He or she must be having a real position in that department"

"Lisa, are you okay?"

Lili asks with great concern. "You are bleeding again"

"Suzy told me it's normal" the eldest of the two mumbles in short breath. "Well, I think this is acceptable than dead, isn't it"

"Stop it" Lili hisses. "And I've been keeping an eye close on Jaehyun. He seems on cloud nine now since he thought you were dead and all of his wrongdoings won't be discovered"

"Good" Lisa lift her eyebrows. A smile on her lips as she sits properly on the bed. "At least our plan is working accordingly to how we precisely wanted it to be"

"But your blonde wife is getting crazy" Lili says. "Are you sure you still want to fake your death until everything is over?"

"You don't get it" Lisa lifts her eyes off her sister.

"If you tell me" the little sister says sternly. "I would know it"

"I received a couple of threats" Lisa starts. "And they aren't about me anymore, Lili. That bastard is targeting my wife and that's the last thing that I want to happen. I'm fine being shot. I'm fine if I'm dead even but I wouldn't be fine if he lays his fingers on my wife"

"Lisa" Lili drops one palm across her face. "Love has blinded you, hasn't it?"

"Don't act like you aren't whipped for that pink haired lady of yours"

"Don't fucking talk about my wife" Lili hisses, throwing her sister the darkest look she can muster.

"See" Lisa grins. "You're fucking whipped for her, Lili"

"Whatever. Suzy told me if you keep up being this healthy, you're good to go"

"Good" Lisa whines. "I feel like I'm losing my mind the more I'm staying here"

Lisa falls into a deep silence soon after that, not knowing how much her little sister is staring at her. "You miss her" she says at last. "Just admit that"

"She's my love" Lisa mumbles, brokenness in her voice as she speaks. "And god knows how miserable I've been this one month without seeing her. But I can't risk her life you know, Lili. If Jaehyun was so fucking insane to get 14 fucking bullets through me, don't you think he'd do the same thing to my wife?"

"But you're hurting her" Lili points out. "And it's not fair. She's like a crazy person now, crying her eyes out, at least that's what I can conclude every time I see her"

"I'll go back" Lisa promises. "Once everything is over"

"When?"

"We are nearly there, Lili. You just have to find out who's been helping Jaehyun to get away from his crimes and that's it. Everything else will be solved. No more fucking threats"

"Lisa"

"Listen up, Lili"

"No, fuck. You listen up to me. Your wife, she needs you. And I don't care about the threats. I'll protect you. I'll protect her. You don't have to worry, we'll kick that bastard behind the bars"

"Stop being so difficult, Lili Manoban" Lisa yells. "I'm your fucking big sister. You listen up to me"

"And what are you going to do if I don't want to listen to you? Lisa, you're sick. And you need her"

"For what?" Lisa demands.

"Fuck, you don't get it? She loves you"

"I know. That's why I'm doing this"

Lisa says, looking away. "That's why I said you'll never understand. You have a perfect family, Lili. Dad who loves you and your new mom who regards you as her own"

"I don't see that coming, Lisa"

"You always have better things than me ever since we were children and you expect me to believe that you'll understand what I'm doing? You're just a brat who knows nothing, Lili. You know that and your best friend married you because she knew nobody wanted a total brat like you"

"Good God, you're sick, Lisa"

"Then get off my face you idiot"

"I hate you" Lili puts on her face mask. "I really hate you"

"Thank God, because I hate you too"

Lili chews on her lower lip before stomping her feet out of the room. Her hand fishes for her smartphone from the left pocket of her pants.

"Hello?" Roseanne says with a smile on her face. "Did you miss me today, baby?"

"Bubs?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you marry me because I was a spoilt brat and you were afraid nobody will marry me if you didn't?"

"Lili" Roseanne says softly. "You okay?"

"Just answer me" she says, voice reaching the breaking point.

"I married you because" she says softly. "Because you're always a part of me even before I knew it"

"Bubs..."

"I love you, baby. Come home now will you? I'll make your favorite pasta"

"I love you too"

"I know" Roseanne smiles. "Now come back. I miss my wife"

"On my way" Lili smiles as she walks into her car.
