Nazuna POV – a week later, Rooftop, Lunch Break

I will certainly remember the day I met him as one of my most prized memories. It's been a week since, and I have to admit he seems more adept to conversation than what I thought.

When I told him that, you know what he said?

Flashback

"Kiyotaka-kun! You don't talk much, but you're always on point! If you lowered your guard more and smile a little, you'd be a perfect conversationalist!"

Then he looked at me with those glistening eyes of his and-

"It's just because I'm with you, senpai."

"Hmmph! Kohai...no...BAKA!"

Flashback end

I've come to enjoy these moments, when we talk about small things, our lives at school, our classes, his suspicions on the System, stuff like that.

Sometimes I wish I was one year younger...but maybe it's better like this, we would've had to fight each other, and I don't want that.

"...zuna! Nazuna!"

I snap out of my trance to see silver hair and crimson eyes staring at me.

"Fuka-chan!" I almost jump in surprise.

"Are you okay? You are out of it since this morning."

"Y-yes, I'm fine."

This is Fuku Kiryuin, my good friend since junior high. She's in Class 2-B and she's a bit aloof, but she's also one of the most incredible geniuses I've ever seen. Wish she could care about the class conflict a bit more and knock down Miyabi a peg or two...

"Are you absolutely sure? I've never seen you so flustered! Is it a boy?"

"NO! I-I mean, it's not..."

She smirks evilly. "Well, Nazuna! Fuka-chan has to approve of your relationship, so introduce him to me as soon as possible, m'kay? If he is as interesting as I think he is, I may just take him for myself."

"Fuka-chan!" I stomp out the rooftop, pouting and flushed.

"Go girl! Go give him that extra bento!"

She even saw it...I'm so embarrassed!

Now, just go to his class, enter and invite him to eat lunch.

What could possibly go wrong?

Kiyotaka POV

"Pathetic." I hear my neighbor huff in annoyance and pity.

"What is pathetic?"

"Pathetic is how hard you try to make friends. And yet, everyone ignores you."

"Aren't you pathetic yourself?"

"I have no intention of making friends. I prefer being alone."

"Then you're even more pathetic. Look at yourself before judging."

I was about to stand up and take Hirata's invitation when a cheerful voice rang from the door.
