As I said what I wanted to say, the entire gymnasium exploded in laughter – even my neighbor snickered. Me and the President continued to look at each other in silence, and soon the commotion died down. We didn't exchange a single word, but I got the feeling it was enough for the both of us.

The other students' reaction was yet another confirmation to my theory.

"Hey, hey, Ayanokoji!" May 1st arrived, and everyone was hyped for the new point transfer. Including Ike who was, as usual, running his mouth.

How good it will be when reality comes crashing down your head...

"I heard you made a scene during the club fair! You told the president you were going to apply to the student council? I bet you got rejected, you're so gloomy and stupid after all!"

"Ike-kun, that's not nice to say!"

"Kikyo-chan!? I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

I just ignored the idiot and sat down. Horikita arrived shortly after.

"You."

"I have a name, you know."

I barely dodge a compass stab to my arm. I could have done it without breaking a sweat, grab it and pierce her own hand from side to side with it, but I can't be bothered because it's Monday, and a morning.

"How dare you embarrass...N-nii-san?"

"Hoh? Never knew he was your brother."

"Hmph. Anyway, with me in the mix, he would surely choose me. You're just a background character with no qualities."

"Yes, it's true." I can't find it in myself to refute her, it would just be a waste of time to break that thick skull of hers. Both literally and figurately.

"Class, as you know, it's May 1st. You should have received your points."

"Sae-chan-sensei! We didn't!"

"Yes, what's up with that?"

"My, my. You ugly existences almost ruin my perfect beauty. We are Class D, so no points for us."

"Koenji is absolutely right."

Sensei grabbed a marker and spoke in a cold tone.

CLASS A 940

CLASS B 600

CLASS C 490

CLASS D 0

A big 0. Well, I'm not surprised.

"How...did you know anything about this?"

I ignored her until I felt a sting on my arm. It was more a tickle, but she wouldn't leave me alone.

"Why you ask me? Obviously I didn't know anything, It comes with great shock for me too."

She lost interest in me after this and, after an eventless lesson, the lunch bell rang.

"Guys, we should plan our strategy for what's to come, with Sensei telling us about the midterms maybe if we can gather a study group-"

"Why should we listen to you, Hirata? Our grades are fine, we'll just cram the night before! We're smart enough anyways!" Yeah, you can tell who said that.

"Kiyotaka-kun!"

"Kohai-kun..."

Senpais, why? First Nazuna, now Fuka...
