"You finished with the new unit, Novak?" Crowley asked when Castiel walked past his office. He rolled his eyes, he was specifically trying to avoid him today.

"Yes, Crowley," he said through his teeth, forcing a smile as he walled into the room. Crowley's office was completely grayscale, besides a few lights which were a dark red color. It reminded Charlie and Castielof hell. "How are you this morning?"

Crowley looked up with a harsh glare and held awkward eye contact for a few minutes before looking back down at the papers on his desk. "I've got a new assignment for you. Mr. Bartholomew is unable to-"

"Mr. Bartholomew is always unable to," Castiel intervened, narrowing his own eyes. "I have taken twice the amount of work because he is 'unable' to do his own."

Taken aback, Crowley looked up slowly, making Castiel sweat, and folded his arms. a breeze flowed through the room and Castiel shivered, hating that feeling crawl up and down his spine like a snake. "Did you just object to my order, Novak? I told you, you have a new unit to work on." Crowley repeated, holding out a file with a tight grip.

Castiel couldn't do it, he couldn't risk his job. "Yes, sir," he blurted out quickly. "Im sorry, I don't know what I was thinking."

A smug smile tugged at Crowley's lips. "Good. Get back to work, the children here would be helpless and stupid without you to teach them."

Suddenly, a new feeling fueled in Castiel's blood. He took in a sharp breath.

"I will work on this new unit, Crowley," Castiel began. He leaned over the desk and glared at his boss intensly. "But these children are not stupid. They are amazing, each and every one of them. They don't need me, but they still listen. They still are willing to learn unlike many other kids at our neighboring schools in the district. So if you're going to call anyone stupid, blame it on me. Not the children."

Crowley scoffed and Castiel pushed off his desk.

"Have a good day, sir." He spat, leaving the office with his head held high. But when he left the office and stepped into the hall, he mouthed to himself 'oh my Chuck' and winced. Regret flowed through him, maybe he shouldn't have done that...

"Well what's a gorgeous guy like you doing in a dirty old garage?" Dean yelled as he saw Castiel running up to him. Castiel rolled his eyes and wrapped his arms around him, Dean returning the hug with a laugh. "Whatcha doing here, sweetheart? I though you were working today."

"On break. Dean I think I messed up," Castiel replied. "Crowley assigned me a new unit to study and stuff."

"And? Did you say no?" Dean asked hopefully, pulling away to give Castiel an encouraging smile.

"I tried and then I failed, then he called the kids stupid and I just...I don't know I just remember yelling and now I feel like I'm going to get fired." Castiel answered, wiping the tears that began to form in his eyes.

Dean frowned and pulled him into another hug, planting a kiss on his head. "Aw, well at least you said something. Didn't just back down like a puppy dog, huh?" He smiled, patting Castiel firmly on the back before letting go.

"I nearly did," Castiel admitted. "But when he called the students stupid I just couldn't control the words coming out of my mouth. Anyway, I just wanted to bring you lunch..."

He handed Dean a paper bag and the man clenched his fist in victory when he found a slice of pie inside.

"Thanks, Cas," he said, closing the bag. "You can sit over here if you want-"
