At Sea

Across the Atlantic Ocean, a pod of dolphins were splashing about near a white yacht. The owner of the yacht is a handsome young adult with brown hair and eyes. He wore a nice clean white dress shirt, jeans, a red sash around his waist, and black boots. He sat at the rail with his German Shepherd, looking out in the clear sky.

"Prince Caleb!"

Caleb turned around and saw his advisor, Alexander "Alex", a young adult with black hair, rushing towards him while trying to stabilize himself on the boat. Alex is wearing a blue plaid dress shirt, jeans, and blue converse. Caleb chuckled at his friend, Alexander was always the one to be seasick.

"Must you stare at the horizon like you haven't seen it a million times before?" Alex said before catching himself on the rail.

"Sorry, Alex. But sometimes I can't help it," the prince said, "the ocean is were I can find peace, regardless of my situation. Right, Zoe?" His German Shepherd barked in agreement. Like her master, the German Shepherd loved to sea as well.

Alex held back a groan. Sometimes he wonders why the prince ever found the ocean so calming. Being below the surface just gave him anxiety. And this yacht rocking back and forth wasn't helping his position.

"What can he say, Alex? The ocean practically entraps him. Like a siren or a mermaid!" A fellow sailor said, before beginning to sing a song.

"I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
And it's hey to the starboard, heave ho!
Brave sailor, beware, 'cause a big 'uns a brewin'
In mysterious fathoms below!
Heave ho!"

"Ughhhhh, don't start on those ocean myths. The ocean may not be fully discovered, but I find it utterly impossible to find such creatures in the ocean without human interferences." Alex complained.

"I'll sing you a song of the king of the sea
And it's hey to the starboard, heave-ho!
The ruler of all the oceans is he
In the mysterious fathoms below
Fathoms below, below!
From whence wayward westerlies blow!
Where the descendant of Poseidon is king
And his merpeople sing
In the mysterious fathoms below!"

"Please, Alex. Scientists haven't been able to document anything that deep yet. And if such creatures existed, they surely wouldn't have such nonsense tales," Caleb said.

SPLASH!

A bottlenose dolphin had jumped near the yacht. Caleb and Alex turned their attention to the mammal, while Zoe barked at it. The dolphin let out a click before diving below the waves. Caleb smiled before getting lost in the salty breeze.

To him, the sea was like a second home. Even if it had dangerous aspects in it like pressure, giant squids, and the unknown depth lurking creatures, the ocean was were he could go to get away from everything. He let out a small song to go along with the sailor's chant.

"The salt on your skin
And the wind in your hair
And waves as they ebb and they flow
We are miles from shore
And guess what - I don't care!"

"As for me, I'm about to heave h-hmph!" Alex let out before clenching the handle to keep himself balanced. Caleb, and to the lesser extent Zoe, snickered at his friend's antics.

"Ah...ah...ah...ah...ah...ah"

Caleb's head immediately perked up to that voice. He had never heard someone sing like this before. This voice... was so enticing to him. Who ever had a voice like that must be as perfect as the sea. Caleb ran up to the top deck and pulled out a telescope and kept in eye out for the person with the hypnotic singing.
