Eri's The New Sky Arcobaleno

Chapter One

"Ow, it hurts, please stop," Eri cried, Chisaki ran a blade across her wrist and tilted it at an angle, with a strong grip. The blood ran down into a cylinder to be tested later. 

"Shut your mouth, brat!" Eri winced, as he roughly fastened the bandages over her cut. 

Chisaki dragged Eri, out of the lab room, until they reached her darkroom. Chisaki threw her in there and she cried out as she scraped her knees from the floor. The slammed shut with a resounding boom.

She gets up from the floor, and walks back to her bed weeping in silence. 'If there is a wishing star somewhere out there...can you take me somewhere much safer?'

Outside over the heads of the people, a twinkling star flew by. A ramen shop felt the purest, sky flames in existence. But there was a problem that came with that. The flames were felt from another dimension.

'Aria just died in childbirth, and the sky flames show promise in Uni. But the pacifier picks only the best flames in the world. Sorry, Giglio Nero, I know you want to keep the pacifier within the family, but the pacifier won't accept second best flames.'

The man finished closing up his ramen shop, before feeling for the sky flames he felt, then vanishing with his mist flames.

Eri sat face up, on her small bed when the man arrived to meet her, startling the girl off her bed, she moved under it. 

"I'm not going to hurt you, I have a proposition to give you," The man smiled before introducing himself, "My name is Checkerface, I have traveled from my dimension to meet you in yours."

Eri slowly crept out of the space under the bed, and said with pleading eyes, "Can you take me with you, please, it's not safe here."

Checkerface looked over the girl, bandages were wrapped on every inch of skin, and he could see her blood bleeding, through the bandage on her wrist.

"If you agree to leave this place, then you have to be the place holder of the sky pacifier."

"Sky pacifier?" She look more hopeful about the man, who pulls out a necklace with a big orange pacifier attached to it. 

"This comes with grave consequences, once you put this on, you are cursed to the form of an infant." He says purposely, leaving out the, 'The pacifier will eventually kill you with a short life span,' he couldn't frighten the child, he needed her to agree. "There are six others like you, this curse is necessary to sustain the life of the planet."

"So if I don't agree, will people die?" Eri mumbled looking down at her bare feet, the man nodded sadly, "Then I'll take it, I don't want to be a burden anymore."

Checkerface walked eagerly over to the small 5-year-old and handed the necklace over. With shaking hands she put it over herself, the pacifier lit up in a bright orange, letting out a powerful backlash. The man was shocked, the pacifier never did this before, he looked down at the now infant-sized girl.

He snatches her into his arms and touched the pacifier with his finger. His eyes widened in shock, this girl removed the curse of dying young. He quickly recomposed himself, seeing the girl's worried eyes, and they vanished, just before someone slammed open the door to the room.
