Chaeryeong's POV
I came to school earlier this morning to avoid a packed bus and not getting a seat. I was bringing my laptop since the notebook I usually used to write down notes was borrowed by Hwang Yeji. Hence I didn't wanna stand in the bus hanging here and there.
At school, I chose a seat in the middle. I checked the schedule and planned to go to the dance center today, meaning to sign myself up into the club. I made a checklist before the class started so I could track my daily agendas: some classes, signing up for the dance team, buying groceries afterwards, and so on.
I turned on my laptop to arrange the folders I'd be using today. As I was organizing the files, someone pulled the chair next to me.
"Oh my-!" I yelled and was so startled when I heard the chair creaking loudly.
"Chillax, girlie.." Ah it was her. Hwang Yeji again. She took a seat next to me without even looking at me. What is her problem? I was waiting for any other words afterwards but there came none. Duh. She's stingy with words I guess.
"Ah... it's you, again." Was trying to catch my breath since she startled the hell out of me.
"Again? Do you not like it if I sit here?"
"N-not that, just-"
"So you like it?"
"..."
"I take that as a yes," she concluded herself before I began to speak anything.
No she wasn't stingy. She's just plainly passive aggressive. I'm certain of that. I shook my head thinking about her. It was still in the morning and my head already messed up with me because of a silly conversation like that.
The class started and it went okay. After it finished, Yeji took out my notebook that she borrowed.
"First of all, thanks for the notes. Second of all, I'm sorry. Some pages might be.. Wrinkled a little.." as she was handing out the book, she looked kinda nervous. I took it from her hands and checked on the book, "Oh, it's fine, don't worry. Why is it wrinkled though?"
"I.. accidentally dropped.. some water on it?"
Her tone was suspicious.. I raised my eyebrow looking at the wrinkled pages. Some ink was also washed out in a few spots. It really seemed like a water drop, or more like a teardrop. I just had a sense that it was teardrops that blurred the pen ink. I looked at her and she was still as nervous as before.
"Like, you cried on it?"

Yeji's POV
"Like, you cried on it?" Shoot, she caught me by the eyes. Is she really that quick-witted to guess that I cried?!
She stared at me quite for a while before I broke the awkward gaze and slightly laughed and nodded,"Yeah, yeah. Like I cried on it," I said mimicking her, "I copied it all though. Thank you."
She slightly smiled and got back to her position and whispered a quiet 'you're welcome'. Why is she so cute? She turned her head back to me not long after.
"Um, Yeji?"
"Yes, what's up?" I answered her casually, not expecting her to start a conversation after the class was over.
"Do you know anyone from a dance club in this uni?"
"Uh.. Yeah I know some but I'm not really close to any of them, why?"
"Nah just askin'. Tha-"
"Ooohhhh you wanna join the dance team?" I cut her off realizing how come I did not realize it at the first place. She smiled shyly and nodded twice, "Actually yes, I need an extracurricular to be part of. I wanted to check them on the internet but couldn't find it so I just asked you."
She looked nice in her outfit today. Her red hair was loosely tied in a ponytail. The way she talked was so calming I could just listen to her talk like this all day. I noticed a small beauty mark on the left side of her chin which made her so pleasing to look at. She's so..
"Pretty.."
"P-pardon..?" She looked surprised. I was surprised too, was I speaking out loud.... I was only thinking about it in my head. She picked her nails and looked rather confused.
"I was about to say.. It was pretty understandable," I mentally facepalmed at this attempt to save myself from embarrassment. "I could take you to them, if it helps. You know, you can introduce yourself personally." I shrugged and was ready to leave the class. I'm so embarrassed. Dear God.
"That would be great! When will we go to them, Yej?"
"Yej? Since when are we on nicknames basis," I couldn't help but blush. This girl, I swear, knew nothing but was unintentionally making my heart flutter all the time. She bit her lower lips and whispered a soft "please..". That's it. Let's go, Chaeryeong-ah. I grabbed her hand and took her to an empty room behind the audiovisual laboratory.
I stared at her and she looked a little awkward. I didn't know why I took her there. My head couldn't think straight when she was acting like that. "Tell me something I don't know" I said to her.
"What do you mean.."
"Do you know what you did to me these days?" I took a long breath before continuing, "You live in my mind these days, rent free, and now you're doing things like that. It's really strange for me but my heart flutters whenever you're around, are you aware of that?! It's only a few days but when I see you in classes or when you walk past me, I can't help but to look at you. I couldn't stay focused when my grades are the only thing that matters to me right now! I cannot be like this and I'm not sure about what I'm feeling, it messes me up. I'm sorry if this bothers you but this bothers me too and I-"
Her eyes were teary and I stopped at an instance. "I'm sorry Chaeryeong, that's not what I meant. I'm so sorry, please don't cry.." I walked up to her and tried to reach her hand again but she took a step back. She didn't say a single word. Wtf Hwang Yeji you scared her.
